    Sigh

    https://www.nfl.com/news/nfl-owners...ternational-games-inventory-beginning-in-2025

National Football League clubs today voted to approve an increase in league-operated international game inventory from four (4) to up to eight (8) games a season beginning in 2025, as the league continues to emphasize global growth as a major strategic priority.

With this vote, beginning in 2025, the NFL will have the right to schedule up to eight regular season games per season internationally. New markets and host cities/stadiums for future seasons will be announced at later dates.

The NFL also announced it will play a regular season game in São Paulo, Brazil -- the first ever in South America -- in 2024. With the game in Brazil, the NFL will have played a game (preseason or regular season) in five of the seven continents around the world.

In addition to the game in São Paulo, the 2024 NFL International Games will see three games played in London: two at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and a third at Wembley Stadium, where the Jacksonville Jaguars will play a home game as part of a multi-year partnership. A fifth game will see the NFL back in Germany for a third consecutive year, returning to Allianz Arena in Munich.

it may be a buisness, but if you continue to take games away from fans inside the USA, you will start to see a downward trend in fans loyalty to the brand...if the brand continues to say that they dont care about you(home town fans), it will be harder and harder for people to justify going. Tackle football, in general is suffering from an overall drop in participation, and the NFL knows it.

Increasing access to the brand only makes them more money.

To a point, you are right, but if the trend continues, the next time a NFL team wants some local help to build a stadium, that may fall on deaf ears. They still need local support to continue to function. It's a bold strategy, cotton...( I personally believe the NFL has enough money to finance their own stadiums, but that's another story)

Remember they will add another game to the regular season soon enough.

Also, if teams are worth a damn they have playoff games in their stadium.

If the Chiefs are one of the teams to play in Sao Paulo they might get a million people show up if the Time Person of the Year is at the game.

yep, I think it was on Dan Patrick today, teams are willingly giving up home games to go certain places hoping to become the owner to 'rights' in that area. Not certain exactly how that works, or if it is official as the NFL is alone a trademark, but when a team can get the attention and allegiance in a certain area, then the marketing for their products gets more income for them, business is money and billionaires like money, lol

Yeah she grew up in Berks County. Yesterday the Pennsylvania legislation named 2023 as the "Era of Taylor Swift!" So she not only is the person of the year she has been awarded her own era, lol

ultimately this is the goal (I believe), 18 game schedule and make it sweeter for players by upping the minimum (as they did adding game 17), plus giving another week off during the season. Long term expand and add play off game. I think the quality will drop, but it's not that great now. while local revenue is important, it pales to what the increases media revenue that can be created, and revenue is all that matters.

You think 17 games makes for a watered down product, just think what more will do.

North America, Europe and, soon, South America. What are the other two continents they've played on?

I happen to have quite a few friends that work in the hospitality industry, they depend on this
extra money that is generated from Steeler/Penguin hell even Pirate games to help feed their families. The league
or benefactor of these foreign games should make up this money lost to these people. They are not rich people,
they are just trying to keep a roof over their head.
