I know the Depot had an article before the Miami game that with the crew we had, there'd be fewer penalties called. Only 56 yards of penalties combined that game, compared to 129 this game. So someone somewhere is doing the maths.

If we had someone doing that and passing the info on we wouldn't have lost that TD on OPI.
He let the DB run into him

The refs are a problem all around...... this game never should've come down to the OPI,.. .. this game should've been over on the 50 yd line but for the DPI on 4th down, which is only a penalty when you play it back in super slow-mo

My biggest beef with the Officials this season is that we have a serious Forward Progress issue. As in inconsistency. St. Brown was clearly stopped by Ramsey/JPJ - yet they didn't blow the whistle, leading to the whole mess with the OPI vs an apparent TD.

You are correct. The officials threw very late flags on this, reacting to the crowd noise. This happens far to often, the refs allow the crowd to dictate the penalty.

For what it is worth JPJ said he heard a whistle. I believe there was a whistle as they both released St. Brown at the same time.

I think everyone heard the whistle - if you watch it back, most of the players (both sides) had eased up and were acting like the play was over. Like I said, inconsistency - and worse, if the whistle actually was blown.

Watched the replay a half dozen times and I couldn't hear a whistle blown.

I guess I don’t have the paranoia some of Yinz have regarding refs

Taking the entire game into account... not just the last drive, Steelers were penalized much more than Lions. Truth. Steelers had 10+.... while Lions maybe had 3 at the most. Many of the Steelers penalties were ticky/tak at best.

In addition to that note. If OPI was not called, The TD would have been under replay review. Forward progress would have been seen and a whistle herd. If called correctly, that is an obvious overturn.

I watched the replay numerous times, and I heard a whistle every time. Even most of the players held up at the same time, because of a whistle

I think, unfortunately, that there needs to be more booth intervention and changes to the rules regarding unreviewable plays.

The egregious non-call for PI during the Pats/Rats game is unacceptable. I think there has to be a change in this age of sports betting. Looks like the ref could be paid off for calling nothing in that situation.

That was a horrible and obvious non-call in the Pats/Ravens game last night. Should have been first and goal inside the 10

The statisticians need to be replaced with those who will report correct info. If the government can do this with job numbers.... Steelers can do this to show Lions were not penalized as much.

People should go back and watch this play and see how bad Jack Sawyer is being held trying to get to Goff. At the very least, this play should have been offsetting penalties. Horrible no call.

I do suspect it does not include declined penalties

declined penalties are not included in any official stats. Declined penalties dont change the outcome of the actual play on the field.

Fans of all 32 NFL teams b!tch about the refs. I must admit when we have a great long pass or run I'm cringing until I see no flag on the play.
