Yeah 23 year old Ben outplayed Plummer by a mile (or Mile High) in that AFC title game.

But Ben got owned by Brady many times except for '04 and '11. Plummer = badass

The problem in his matchup for the most part was not Ben,it was the defense. In the playoffs win for Plummer vs Pats, the Broncos defense give up only 13 points and they had also a interception who has been returned at the one yard line and the broncos had score in the play after,so I think Ben would win this game!

The steelers defense still don't know how to contain just a bit the elite QB,even almost 20 years later

They held manning to 18 at home in 05 and Warner to 23 in the Super Bowl. One busted play from 16

I've thought Matt Canada was a handicap for this offense, but Kenny seems to be pretty comfortable with him. While Canada may not have been the best fit with Ben with his style of play, he and Kenny may be a better fit.

You realize that Stella (from another Brando flick) might be a derivative of Steelers ? ;) Small world.

No it just shows that matchups make the fight, or game. Belichick, and Brady together have never beat Cam Newton, or Lamar Jackson, but Mike Tomlin, and Ben together have never lost to them .

Steelers D is tailored to severely limit mobile QBs like Newton and LJ.

Steelers will be contenders if Pickett, TJ Watt, Fitzpatrick, Pickens and Heyward stay healthy. Lose one of those guys.... and Steelers are screwed.

I'm encouraged by the personnel changes and additions that have been made. My prognosis is 9-8, 10-7 as this team develops and weathers some growing pains. Might sneak in and grab a wild card spot. Super Bowl bound? Naw. That's where I'll pump the brakes. I think they'll make some real noise in '24. If KP shows marked improvement this year, then the arrow is definitely pointing up.

The other touchdown to Fitzgerald was just Fitzgerald being unstoppable. Taylor actually played that one damn near perfectly and he still had no chance.

It is somewhere in between. The Browns' time to shine usually seems to be now, before any games are played. They are right about the Bengals, at least for now. They might be right about the Ravens, too.

A lot of it is them probably assuming Pickett is the worst quarterback in the division. They may be right about that. He needs to take a big step forward this season.

    Contenders?!

I am with @Steel_Elvis@Steel_Elvis in the vein that the Steelers will be contenders in terms of making the playoffs as the roster is definitely improved for it to happen. In terms of the Super Bowl?!... phew man... that is one hell of a leap for Kenny Pickett. Would be nice but I would be more satisfied if Pickett simply improves his capabilities upon taking deep shots downfield in addition towards further reading Zone Defenses at a faster rate.

Its to be determined. On the one hand I wanted him gone, but KP's development could actually be hindered by throwing a new OC in. Have yet to see anything even decent with Canada's system, but will acknowledge that the O was the youngest in the league, almost an entirely new line, and rookie QB. Now adding a new asst wanting to and solidifing the line further, will they unleash more? Two years of his stuff has not shown us much.

we had a great draft and made good offseason moves so one gets even more hopeful when a report like this comes out.

then i remember who the OC is and i temper or curb my enthusiasm

absolutely no excuses for Canada this year. The o line is improved. KP has some experience now. good fleet of receivers and TE's. its on Canada to create a good slew of plays and routes. Let KP call some plays himself also.

Did you watch the Steelers offense last year? Granted Kenny was a rookie but it looked like a HS offense.

More like a Saturday JUCO offense.

    :roflmao:

This post doesn’t even deserve more than a LOL

When in TF did this offense look good at the end of the year? Take away Kenny’s two last second drives vs Baltimore and Raiders. Are you kidding me pops?

If you need to rely on taking away clutch touchdown drives to make your point, you have failed.
