No way am I blaming this loss on flags but the 2 free plays were significant that they didn't call. Ben wouldn't have thrown that pick 6.

Let's be honest, we've played like warmed over manure for 4 straight games now. We're lucky we only lost 2 of them.

Refs suck, yes. You'll never convince me the NFL doesn't use the refs to influence games. Too many "judgement calls" that seem very one sided (not just in our games).

But the Steelers lost this game. And if they don't pull their collective heads out of their posterior orifices, they'll be 1 and done in the playoffs.

Slumps happen. Hopefully that's all this is. But as of this moment, we are NOT ready.

I’ll give you 3 straight games, but the fourth would be a 27-3 win over the Jags.

Every time the Steelers lose, the NFL is a joke.

Tomlin is a joke too, the guy didn't throw the flag when I think it was Sutton who knocked the ball out of Josh's hand. That was a fumble and could've changed the game

It wouldn't have mattered because the joke of the NFL referees blew the play dead immediately instead of letting it play out. Definitely should have been a fumble though.

I don't know who they are hiring for refs but its not working out. The quality of refereeing has deteriorated over the years and I doubt will improve. I don't know who the head ref was for our game but he looked like he was having trouble figuring out what to say or do at times. Oh well, both teams have to deal with it but shouldn't have to. I am trying to still understand why one ref throws a flag for DPI (which if he throws a flag he must have seen an infraction) only to have it withdrawn. I agree it wasn't an infraction to begin with so why was there a flag thrown? Several games each week there are questionable calls that are not withdrawn.

Refs were very generous to Buffalo without a doubt but I think even if all of those decisions went the other way we’d have lost anyway

My bugbear is the OLine holding not being called. Either make it legal (not going to happen, I know) or or call it! They seem to call offensive holding purely at random now. It’s very frustrating when your teams identify is built around the pass rush.

That play would have been hard to challenge. They almost instantly ruled it an incomplete pass and then stopped following the play. So there would have been no clear cut recovery by either team. Similar to the last pick Ben threw where the ref couldn't judge if contact was made prior to the pass being picked off and his going to the ground, so he let him get up and keep running. Steelers all stood around looking like it was down by contact.

The ball was out way before the whistles went, they went off when the ball hit the ground. They would've seen the ball coming out before his arm when into motion.
