Getting something for less doesn't make it better lol. There's a reason he is cheaper. Age also irrelevant when talking about a qb. If being more mobile matters so much why does everyone here constantly talk bad about lamar jackson?

You know....I'm not so sure getting a sure fire great CB is actually easier than getting a great Qb. JMO
    I also would take Denzel

You will see. Matt Ryan will have a very good yr there. Wouldn't be surprised if they won that division.

Because Lamar runs too much, and turns the ball over and he's not a good passer. Age mattered when it came to Ben because he was limited in the type of plays he could run.

While mobile, and running Qb differ....I don't care really if My Qb is mobile...other than the normal step forward, or 2 the side. If Your Qb is running for over 400 yards a season....unless he's running at 50 yards a clip.....you are leaving a lot of passing yards on the table, and believe You Me.....Wrs don't want any part of that. See any Wrs running 2 the ravens????

A Franchise QB is immeasurably harder to get than a True Number One Corner. For that matter, finding someone like Patrick Mahomes is far more difficult than finding someone like Denzel Ward or even Jalen Ramsey. Not an easy quest to complete; some teams taking decades to find one. Pittsburgh had taken over 20 seasons after Bradshaw retired to find Big Ben.

Sure, today's league is much different than when it was back in 2004 but finding that guy at the most important position is critical for Super Bowl aspirations. Having that guy can make life easier in terms of perennial playoff contention.. provided if that QB does not want to suck the life out of that Franchise. For a better example of this, see Brett Farve and Aaron Rodgers.

OK. Let's say You are totally correct.
I can give You 10 great Qbs in the league right now.
I can't give You 10 great shutdown CBs in the league right now.

No doubt regarding CBs. That position is quite difficult to find. However, that position is difficult to find more so based on the evolution of the league than it is for the position. Biggest reason of the league's continual evolution? The QB. Why? NFL wants to see high scoring games and the QB is the best position for such a possibility to become reality.

Without him... good luck getting to a Super Bowl in today's NFL. Unless a Defense is comparable to the 1976 Steelers, 1985 Bears, 2000 Ravens, 2002 Bucs, 2013 Seahawks or even 2015 Broncos...., whew man... that is quite the tall order for a Defense to carry an Offense to the Super Bowl in this day and age.

One final aspect; Importance and value are too different aspects here. Just because a QB is the most important position in the game does not mean he is the most value on that team. Sure, in the case of Mahomes... no contest. Another team like say.. the Rams? Even with Matthew Stafford, Aaron Donald is all but impossible to place a value on. Sure, the team does get to the playoffs thanks to Matthew. I doubt they win it though without Donald.

For that matter, let us look at the Titans. Tannehill has shown he is able to get the Titans to the playoffs. However, Derrick Henry is the literal straw that stirs that teams drink.

The Rooney's have far more class than the Haslam's have any moral compass to begin with; absolute sellout hypocrites of the highest caliber. Critiques the likes of Tyreek Hill and Kareem Hunt and yet signs a guy who is "an adult"... flawless logic. Regarding Arthur Blank.. he can thank himself for believing that Matt Ryan could still get them into Super Bowl contention in 2021. The smart move at that point would have been to draft Fields but instead draft essentially a Game Changing TE who will likely either play his way out of Atlanta via contract or be traded due to reasons given his frequent Social Media posts.

Of the two, the Haslam's do not surprise me in the slightest in terms of who they are personally. Arthur just made series of bad moves regarding Matt Ryan and had to pay for it.

You don't know how much I hate that team. I used to be their photographer. And heard crap all the time. So I would Photoshop count dracula next to their owner all the time.

But yeah they're all trying to say they got a steal of the best QB and he's better than trubisky.

Raiders went into beast mode this off season as well.

I would like the honey badger. Because of the name and I always liked his play style.

No it's easy with a guy like trubiksy. A few special cases with multiple things working in their favor did it so the steelers will easily do it next yr. Not to mention the nfl and the level of qb play of now is far different than 2016.

I am surprised I have not heard anything about Derek Watt this offseason.

I guess with his restructure last year his cap hit of 4.7 million this year will only go down by 2.7 million if they release him.

You may be right. I just don’t think this team needs to be cash strapped by an old declining QB at the end of his career. I just watched that movie. It didn’t end well.

He's going to restructure his contract to 20 this year and 20 next year. And the failclowns are eating 7 million this year.

It did take 20 years. I remember a name something like Dan Marino in there that could have been had as a number one pick but they passed. Worst decision ever

I never stated the Steelers were in the right in passing on him!! :lolol: Only that finding one is not so simple and assured.

They may win that division because he has a very good team around him with the Colts and the division is a lot weaker than the West or the North, but they would have just as good of a shot with Trubisky. I'm sure the so-called analyst will think he's found a gotcha moment if the Colts win their division, but the Steelers don't win the North. Of course, anybody with any sense would know better.

The Steelers just went through two seasons with a declining, immobile quarterback and the so-called analyst things they should have given up a third-round pick and a hell of a lot more money just to bring in another one? That is comically ridiculous thinking.

No I didn't say you said that at all. But that was a clear issue of them shooting themselves in the foot. It would not have taken 20 years to find another franchise QB if they had done the right thing in that instance. I understand they make mistakes. But that kid grew up in Pittsburgh and should have been a lock at that position. That's the only thing I'm saying. They made it a lot harder on themselves than it had to be.

Not sure if this has been asked but who is going to be the first on this MB to own a Gunner Olszewski jersey? I'd be game. Hoping he's as good as his awesome name. :clapping::thumbs up:
