James Washington going to be one of Dem Boys.

I think I'm starting to realize sometimes a player just doesn't fit with a team, not that they are a bad player.

Like ... how the hell didn't Manny Sanders totally ball out when he was here?

I keep waiting to hear news on Tyrann Mathieu or Terrel Edmunds.

I am hoping they make a move on one of these players soon. Right now, I don't really care who, as long it is one of them soon to lock down the position.

Hey jackass was talking about the post you quoted not yours specifically. Doesn’t make any sense to get all worked up about our roster in March when the draft hasn’t even happened yet and we are not done signing or cutting players.

Part of Sanders problem was that there was a glut of talent at WR while he was here. We had AB, Hines, Wallace and Miller at TE.

Sanders also had some banged up moments during his time with the Steelers.

But, he has had quite the lengthy NFL career, and played for a good number of teams.

Should go get Mathieu. Just our division alone is 6 games against top QB’s.

and Ben feeds the guys he has chemistry with more than the others. It's why AB got the ball in triple coverage or where he'd get killed in coverage but not the guy sitting at the sticks on 3rd and 4

I think they are going to resign Edmunds. They could probably lock him up to a cap friendly deal long term.

If we sign Mathieu, he will only be here short term due to the money he will demand. I would only bring him in if we were seriously making a run this year and he was the final piece.

Right now Steelers are a work in progress.

Pretty much how it goes in the NFL. You go 2 the guys You trust...when $hit hits the fan, and when Qbs spread the ball around....for example 2020 ...we had 3 Wrs over 800 yards, a TE over 500, and another Wr at 400(or there abouts).....people complain.....How come we have no top Wr. LoL. Can't win for losing some times

Well sure, all things considered having a franchise QB is great. That said, it severely hampers putting a good team around them once their off their rookie deal. We won a super bowl with a not yet good Ben at QB thanks to a great team around him and his rookie deal. I'd be fine if they find one and pay big to keep him, but seeing the last few years of holes in the roster with Ben taking 30 or 40 of the cap has been painful.

I think you CAN win a SB with an average/mediocre QB (Peyton won his when he was no longer good as well...thanks to a strong team around him before they signed him).

Nick Foles was an average/mediocre QB, and he beat Brady/Patriots in the Super Bowl.

I think you better go back and look at that 2005 playoff run. Without Ben they don't even make it to the Super Bowl. Then again in 2008, not only do they not make it without Ben but they certainly don't win it.

As far as Manning goes, he may not have been what he once was when he won with the Broncos, but he was still Payton Manning and teams needed to account for that which is part of being a franchise QB.

As far as winning without one:

    Matt Stafford
    Tom Brady
    Pat Mahomes
    Tom Brady
    Nick Foles*
    Tom Brady
    Peyton Manning
    Tom Brady
    Russell Wilson
    Joe Flacco*
    Eli Manning
    Aaron Rodgers
    Drew Brees
    Ben Roethlisberger
    Eli Manning
    Peyton Manning
    Ben Roethlisberger
    Tom Brady
    Tom Brady
    Brad Johnson*
    Tom Brady
    Trent Dilfer*
    Kurt Warner
    John Elway
    John Elway
    Brett Favre
    Troy Aikman
    Steve Young
    Troy Aikman
    Troy Aikman

Since 1991 there have been 30 Super Bowl championships and all have been won with a franchise QB except for 4. Meaning that in the past 30 years. So while you are right you can when I wouldn't say that is the smart strategy.

Man I will miss Haden. Good dude and a great player.

Wish he could have been on this team closer to Ben's prime years.

Still have 2 take into account that Peyton didn't score a Td ....on the ground...nor in the air, and turned it over twice....so that make 6 without a real Qb...also even though Wilson didn't have a bad game....they beat the Broncos 43 - 8....they could have done that with 3 field goals, but I do agree....You should have a Good Qb....
Now the Question is.....How many Great Qbs have won the SB without a Great team???
    I can't think of any...

I keep checking my phone for news of signing Mathieu. He will turn 30 before training camp, and defensive backs age in dog years so there is that issue. Still, I would like to see the Honeybadger in Black and Gold.
I am glad they got Trubisky and not QAron Rogers. Trubisky is certainly not the most gifted QB out there, but with a good defense and ball control offense, he might be what they need.
