It also says they banned seat cushions??? Really???

The Steelers tix that go on sale on ticketmaster are all for the 500 section where it is metal benches, not plastic seats...

Those benches get really cold in December and January???

"Those who are willing to sacrifice liberty for security deserve neither".

Now that's just a saying, don't take it too literally. There needs to be a healthy balance of course, but this is going too far I think. Seat cushions don't exactly pose much of a bomb threat, and they can easily go through metal detectors or be wanded with a handheld metal detector. This also means that very young children won't be able to go to games anymore. Those with young children need to bring a bag with supplies, including diapers. While you could argue an infant doesn't need to be at the game anyway, a lot of people like sharing these experiences with their young kids.

Well, on the bright side, now that the NFL has created a rule that worsens the experience for its fans, ticket prices will be going down.

    ...Right?

They can still bring bags, they just have to be clear, I'm sure you can fit some diapers and other supplies in a 12 x 6 x 12 bag. Seat cushions do pose a bomb threat, you have 5 or 10 guys with bomb making parts stashed in their seat cushions then meet up inside. Bombs on planes are sometimes assembled in the bathroom. Can you wand them, sure but they are trying to speed up the process not slow it down and that won't catch plastic parts. What they should do is have cheap give away seat cushions and if that's still too expensive, have a bin to deposit them in on the way out or just instruct them to leave them on their seats. Other then the seat cushions, none of that other banned stuff should be an inconvenience.

True, but a pair of shoes can pose a bomb threat... there has to be some pragmatism here.

I agree about the giveaway cushion part though - it certainly seems a sensible solution. More likely, though, the opposite will happen, and they'll charge exorbitant amounts for renting a one-off cushion.

In the name of supporting national security, the NFL is imposing rues that make it harder to sneak beer and booze into the stadium and make you buy $10 beers from them.

This is the reason for this as much as anything

Again just another bone headed move by the league, yea those ticket prices will go down.
Ha.Most of my woman Steeler fans are furious over the new rule. Oh by the way the Rooney's
want tax payers to foot the bill for the addition of 3000 new seats, I guess they are so broke in the NFL
that they can't afford to do this with their own money?LOL

Same for me in 529 and 530. But those seats were close to the rail. Do they become bench seats higher up? It's all mustard yellow, so it didn't seem that way.

Every owner has hit up Joe Tax Payer in the last 30 yrs. for replacing stadiums and expansions. Do you think that 70,000 Cheese heads opened their wallets just to take on some added responsibility? Where have you been?

The closed end of the stadium up in the 500 level is all-silver metal benches... This is also where most of the tickemaster tickets are located, besides the ticket exchange ones that come from the season ticket holders. I don't think I ever landed an individual yellow plastic seat.

And in December and January those metal seats are FREEZING.....

I guess I worded my statement wrong, I know all about tax payer input about stadiums, The Steelers have already tapped the public sector when building Heinz Field, I don't think the good people of Allegheny county should have to ante up anymore money to millionaires/billionaires like the Rooney's and the NFL. This is all I was trying to get across. The Rooney's made the bone headed mistake in the beginning of not making it bigger, even with multi year waiting list for season tickets.
