It seems like the number of players being placed in Covid protocol is starting to pick up for whatever reason. Assuming there is no issue with the testing (i.e. being flawed) I'm wondering if the NFL may need to reconsider the protocol.

I have a friend whose child was apparently in the presence of a child who tested positive in school. Because her child was quarantined she wasnt even required to leave the school and faced no days of quarantine (i.e. 10 day quarantine). I dont know if that's crazy or not, but it's a stark contrast to what the NFL policy is and you would hope everybody is on the same page concerning Covid and its risks (altho not likely) and making decisions as to how to handle exposure accurately.

I wonder if the NFL may be doing too much with personnel being required to pass two negatives within a 24-48 hr time frame when you have just been around a person who tested positive but not tested positive yourself. Its crippling squads to the point now there may concerns about fielding a team when likely the over concern was not necessary. Cleveland Browns are in serious trouble because of Covid restrictions for their upcoming game. I'm not complaining though, because if the Steelers can handle business this may work out for their good.

Clearly there's confusion still as to just how contagious covid is when you have this much disparity between how a school system works and say the NFL/NBA etc.

Mods...feel free to delete this thread if you think it might get out of hand. I'm personally not on either side of the fence about it.

I just heard that the NFL had cut down on the amount of testing, I think it may have even been every day. That would explain a lot why so many cases are popping up on teams.

This new variant is much more contagious but apparently not as serious as Delta was but still lethal to people who have health problems and elderly.

And yes, just going to lock this up, it won’t go well.
