well, after that showing in baltimore, i would clean house. big contracts and big names could go. there was no leadership at all. cam may have been the only guy playing his arse off. minkah, watt, highsmith, jones, seumalo, queen, friermuth get picks and move on. herbig would be on thin ice. MAGA. (make allegheny great again). it's time to cut the head off the snake.

Sad thing is.... I would usually be angry and upset after a Steelers playoff loss. Now I've become numb to it. At halftime... I was planning on catching up on some TV shows. I knew Steelers were gonna lose.... I was just hoping it would be competitive and it never really was.

i don't care that we lost as much as the total lack of effort the whole game.

I'm trying not to check out on the Steelers, but it's getting rough. I'll still follow them from time to time in the offseason, but not much is gonna change until there's a change at HC, DC, OL coach.

I'm for keeping Smith at OC, but that's about it. OL needs a new coach, DC and all subordinate positions need replaced. Clean total house on the defensive side of the ball.

we were supposed to have 3 of the better secondary coaches around. not including MT. i have to wonder if it's them or them not being allowed to play how they want to and MT overriding it all. i sure would like to see what they could do without tomlins overriding guidance. i do believe our troubles start at the top and trickle down. we do what we do method is getting quite old.

None of this matters unless we get rid of Tomlin or at the very least significantly strip him of his power and responsibilities as it relates to his influence on this team. That means if he stays we have to get a legit DC and that DC must be empowered to catch the way he sees fit. We need a better OC and we need a better Oline coach. Im not sure I wouldn’t replace the Secondary coach and linebackers coach as well. We need to add passing game coordinator and run game coordinator and an analytics coach. Need to add HC support for clock management and challenges. After all of this then we can look at what needs to be done on the roster.

When you start herding excuses like communication errors , execution or they were tired etc. That is coach speak for we don’t know what the hell problem was and we are incompetent. We here the same issues every year. Things never change. We keep throwing bodies at the issues seemingly thinking it is always the players fault and it is lack of execution. Lack of execution should never, ever ever come out of a players or coaches mouth at this level. If it does that tells me it is a coaching a problem. Everyone of these players is talented enough at this level. Everyone of them are putting forth effort at this level in a playoff game unless they don’t believe in the system and the coaching. SO ultimately it still does and always will come back to coaching.

At half time I started watching other channels. I came back a few times to check-in, but you could just see the butt whooping was going to bad. No answers for Henry and Jackson, completely inept offense, etc.

The Pittsburgh Steelers once again for the 5th time in the past 8 seasons could not win a playoff game. The Steelers defense have looked disgusting in the past 5 playoff games. I know the offense have looked bad in that span, but the defense have not shown up in the playoffs either. Changes need to come. I think the Steelers should dig deep and make some huge changes with the coaching staff and players. I have been defending Mike Tomlin for the longest. But he can go. Teryl Austin and Arthur Smith can go as well. I doubt that free agents Najee Harris, Van Jefferson, Mike Williams, Dan Moore Jr, and Cam Sutton come back to the Steelers in 2025. I like Najee. But I think overall Jaylen Warren is better. The rest of the players I don't really care for. And I'm stuck on the Russ and Fields free agency. I highly doubt the Steelers bring back both. At best, it will be one or the other. As the 2024 season progressed, it felt like Russ was playing worst. Against the Ravens in the playoffs, that was Russ's best game since the Bengals game on December 1st. Also, he is going to be 37 years old next season. So I'm hesitant on him coming back. And with Justin, he will be 26 years old. He definitely has to improve with his accuracy, but he is younger, more athletic, taller than Russ, and more than likely will be cheaper to sign compared to Russ. I would not be surprised if the Steelers trade George Pickens. Us Steelers fans have seen this scenario already with their wife receivers. And the Steelers top 3 priorities in the draft should be offensive line, wide receiver, and cornerback. Steelers need to do something for us fans. Lol

looks like we are carrying over another 6,831,465 mil to add to the 52,356,722 mil we already have for next year. so we are over 59 mil. right now.

    preston smith 13.4
    seumalo 7.875
    ogunjobi 7.0
    holcomb 6.0

    another 34 mil. easily added.

    leal 1.412
    patterson 2.8

there is another 4.mil. easily added.

38+ 59= 97 mil. we could probably easily get to over 100 mil. to play with for next year. we did sign doug nestor to a future's deal. we were talking to two RB's at the hula bowl. looks like we get pick 21 in the draft.

That's great but if they don't get a real quarterback it doesn't matter and I don't see how they're going to get one. Oh, and the idiot still coaches the team.

Oh, I agree. I think the OL will be fine next year ...IF... they get a proper OL coach. I just don't trust them to do that.

omars first priority should be to get mike munchak back in the building. he wants to coach again. don't let the titans get him.

kirk cousins or aaron rodgers would be the next priority if we are going to retread QB's. not worrying about how they played this year. both only a year from bad injuries, by next season they should be in much better shape.

bring back kyle allen and draft one this year. wait until next year to get the new franchise draft pick while the backup learns.

I’m a no on Kirk Cousins but I’d take Rodgers before rolling with Wilson again if we are sticking with old QB’s.

I'm reserving my thoughts on the O Line until I see Jones on the left side. Seumalo struggled a bit. Signed through 2025. Hoping Fantanu comes in and solidifies the RT position. So to me the jury is still out.

They need to show Pat Meyer the door. Will it happen? His contract is up in February.

That improves the odds of him being let go at least. We know how they hate terminating contracts.

Art II besides being President he is the CFO. He will not have any coach sitting on the couch eating bon bons being paid.

So that brings us to Austin, Smith and of course Bags Tomlin. All have signed recent contracts. Going to be a LONG 3 years so Buckle Up!

But could have been posted in about 100 other threads already in progress. Did not need a new one. Just my opinion.

4 of the 6 guys listed to save a ton of money are backups. ogunjobi is a parttime player. seumalo was the only real starter. that's hardly blowing it all up. this was also started before our last game and looking towards next year and our free agency. we are at that point if you havent noticed. our season is over.
