Will either give the Steelers a chance to compete after the bye week moving forward or they will be completely done. If they can split out west in San Fran and against the Chargers and win the home games with the Bengals and Ravens and go into the bye at 3-3 with the Dolphins up after the bye it will keep them in the race. If Rudolph can play like he did yesterday and the D can clean things up they can definitely I think win 3 of the next 4. Whether they do or not remains to be seen. But I’m not ready to completely write this season off just yet. I wanna see what happens the next few weeks.

Hope you are right but I am convinced we will be lucky to win 6 games this season but that won't bother me too much since now it's all about developing Mason Rudolph.

When was the last time the defense cleaned things up. How many times do you have to hear there was lack of communications. From the players and coaches. Hint.... Its been years, nothing going to change with our defense in the next couple of games, on offense MR getting more experience is a plus and also to see what he has.

This. Our defense needs a fundamental change. They look lost... Too many breakdowns, too many poor play calls. And it's been happening for years. Time for a new DC, that is actually given full control of the defense.

To have any real chance to compete after the bye week Steelers will have to be 3-3 by that point.

And we got to California twice in the next stretch of 4 games.

We only need Mason Rudolph to play lights out, we need rediscover the running game, and just have our defense play better.

Then we might have a shot at that.

    Not asking for much.

There will be no major improvement on the D until Butler is gone and Tomlin stops meddling. It’s time to bring in a proven DC and not a glorified position coach. I’d seriously hire Rex Ryan for the rest of the year and make it his job to keep next year.

Well the Ravens play at KC next week in a game they prob will lose and then the Browns at home and then come here. So if the Steelers can win in San Fran and at home to Cincy and get to 2-2 the Ravens would be 3-1 the Steelers would have a chance to take over 1st place if they beat them here at home on Oct 6th. So my point is let’s just see how things unfold these next few weeks before we completely write this season off. A lot can and will change next week this time if the Ravens lose in KC and the Steelers win In San Fran so let’s at least see how things play out with Rudolph getting a full week of practice and his first start.

More worried about the defense than Rudolph at QB.
