a lot of new faces here. do they have enough practice time together to beat the brownies?

wilcox, bell, haden, mitchell, hilton, mcdonald. not to mention hunter, juju, sensabaugh, conner, watson, tj. lots of new parts or parts that don't have much time together.

Facing the Browns in week 1 is a blessing.

Compared to the browns their whole team is practicaly new faces plus they have a rookie QB Kizer starting at QB, their receiver corp is all newbies including coates.

Of the Browns’ 53-man roster, 26 have been added through the draft – 18 in the last 2 years – 43 players have been added since 2016 and 25 of those this year alone. That’s how drastic this gut job to rebuild has been.

It is a fair question. One thing worth noting is that outside of Sensabaugh, all the other players mentioned in the OP either are backups or have a relaible veteran behind them should they struggle. I don't consider Bell new, even if he is just getting aquiainted with the new "wrinkles ". A guy with his skill set doesn't forget how to run

They are going to be rusty. Bell should rush all over these guys even though he has lacked reps. I think Brown will have a big day. Now that Haden is in black gold, Haden usually shut down Brown well at times. One game last year Brown only had 65 yards against Cleveland, Haden shut him down good.

Jump on them quick and it could be a blow out. But, if you let them hang around, this is the NFL and anything can happen.

Bottom line, while some growing pains and hiccups are to be expected with a few new faces, it shouldn't be enough to stop them from winning on Sunday. If they can't beat these Browns then they are not the Super Bowl contenders we hope they are.

Would love to see Big AL break Myles Garrett's spirit in game #1.

The Steelers are the biggest favorite as far as the point spread at 8.5 along with NE over KC. I debated if I should make my normal 500 weekly bet on the Steelers or not but decided this team, without serious injuries will win it all this year so I bet them and will continue every week throughout the season. 8.5 points is a lot to give anyone, even Cleveland, but I think the Steelers will win by 10 plus points

I watched a show once (Ultimate Factories) where a factory mechanic had a load of pieces-parts around him ... and from them he assembled a Ferrari engine.

    We've assembled one, too.

Joe Hadden is my biggest concern. A missed assignment there can be 6 points.

Mitchell missing all pre-season scares me....and Wilcox replacing him really not knowing the terminology--->One mis-communication is a TD.

Thats what happened in the NE opener last year but I dont think Cleveland will be as likely to exploit it if there are any.

Facing a young QB with limited weapons this D will look great now.

The addition of Haden will allow more man coverage. More man = less communication = faster play. I expect this to look sharp.

Just curious - did you have anything on Howard vs UNLV? Payout was astronomical - you and all your children and maybe their children could have retired on a $1k bet.

I don't bet hardly any college football. It would have been a great one to be on.

Comes down to Tomlin and Co., this is where good coaching comes into play. Playing Browns week 1 is a sigh of relief. Week two vs. Vikings may be a bigger challenge than we think. Hope we start gelling this week.

Heres what the ODDs makers think:

Steelers (-9) at Browns, Sunday 1 p.m. ET, CBS

There's some positive buzz around Cleveland's offense because beyond rookie QB DeShone Kizer, players such Isaiah Crowell, Corey Coleman and Kenny Britt will make it look more respectable for Hue Jackson. Unfortunately, archrival Pittsburgh counters with Ben Roethlisberger, Le'Veon Bell, Antonio Brown and Martavis Bryant. The Killer Bs will roll out well after a strong offseason, and former Browns corner Joe Haden will put the finishing touches on it. Steelers win 38-21 and cover the spread in the Lock of the Week .

I think we can hold the Browns to 14 or less now . Before we got Haden I thought they would score 30 or so. Kizer has looked good picking a part soft zones if we stay out of that he should have a long day .
