New Overtime Proposal?

Since the OT quarter is only 10 minutes long, should they:

Play the entire quarter, no matter what? This means that the quarter won't end over a touchdown or safety. Even though the Steelers scored 21 points in 73 seconds, crazier things have happened before this game:

The only change I want to see is no more freaking tie games.

Will never happen. NFLPA would throw a fit. TV networks would throw a fit because there's no advertising revenue in OT and other shows are being pushed back.

 

Just keep the scoring rules the way it is and go to 15 minutes.

Just like baseball - play until there is a winner. Game 3 of WS was epic last night over 7 hours. War of attrition at that point.

 

Keep sudden death, but each must possess the ball EVEN IF the first team with possession scores a TD.

Actually, by ALL 53 players... Now that would be interesting because if teams were smart, then they would make their kickers/punters kick at the very end when it really matters.

 

I'm down for this - but instead of kicking, make each QB throw 5 Hail Mary's from their own 40. Whomever scores the most out of 5 wins the game. LOL
