Heh... "safety first".

 

Respectfully disagree on Edmunds. I would have him at his current weight and use Burnett to be that "dime 'backer" while Edmunds can be that Strong Safety. Have him learn some of the fundementals and principles of the game. Do not want to feed him to the wolves yet.


Once the season progresses, look for Butler to use Edmunds in more creative ways as Edmunds will likey become more comfortable by then in the defense.



As for that 5-1 concept, that does sound interesting but the 4-2-5 would be more sufficient as it does give you another second level defender in a linebacker.
