New Helmets May Help Players Like Green

    Saw on CNBC today demonstration of the new helmets the NFL will be trying out.

    They are different in that the outer shell caves in slightly upon impact then flexes back, so the helmet itself absorbs much of the energy of impact instead of transferring it to the head.

    It looks like it should help IMO.

    It should but with players like Vontez Burfict I am not too sure about it.

    One more hit and a Green is a spectator for life. Or worse. Concussions add up. Talked to a neurologist who made the comment it wasn't the first concussion he worried about. It was the second.

    I thought we shouldve change our helmets awhile ago ...especially with the steelers organization heading up the concussion study
