Actually, it clearly shows him taking a step towards the field's edge at :11. He meant to do exactly what he did and I think it was a punk move. He just cost the Steelers some cash, a draft pick, and some integrity

I think that the step towards the field was before any "look back" and I would say, I think he was just positioning himself to watch the jumbo tron, he probably never expected that Jones would get that far down the field.

Although it does baffle me why he wasn't positioned 180 degrees around so he could watch the run come towards him, and maybe glance over his shoulder at the jumbo tron so he could see if the defender had the right angle.

I dunno, that play looks pretty darn fast at regular speed, looks more innocent than guilty in my eyes.

Cash and integrity I agree with but there is no way they take a draft pick from them for this. No way in hell.

I am sure that every player in that locker room will defend their coach publicly no matter what they think happened. It is just a damn shame that kind of loyalty does not carry over to the fans. What ever happened to "stick up for your own no matter what"?

Fans don't get paid for blind loyalty. There is no comparison.

No, no, no Freak ... only a 1 game suspension, that will give Tomlin yet another new record to add to his total of records his coached team is setting this year.

Also, keep in mind that when/if Tomlin is suspended, any losses won't be reflected on his W/L record.

The 2013 Steelers season has reached an all time low when in the last few weeks of the season we are talking about the actual physical POSTURE of a coach on a special teams play. What we are NOT talking about is how our ST blew ANOTHER coverage and put our not as great as usual defense in to yet another precarious position. This time a few years ago we were talking about who our playoff matchup was gonna be. We were talking about who would be the most favorable NFC matchup for us if we made the Super Bowl. But now we are talking about the actual posture and analyzing the body language of a coach. I meant it's just sad really.

If we lose any draft pick over this, I will truly believe that the NFL has it out for the Steelers. Even though I still to this day believe that the Rooneys had a part in Ben's suspension, no other player has since been suspended anyway near the amount of time that Ben was, especially without a charge ever being brought against him. Why is that? There have been far worse things that have happened since then, such as a player in a bar fight with a bouncer and then the bouncer ending up paralyzed, and additionally, the player I am mentioning had at least eight run-ins with the law, where was the suspension there? I am sure others can think of other examples in the news.
Now, why in the middle of the season the NFL wants to put out there that they might suspend a coach or take away draft pick(s) for an incident where no contact was made with a player? Is there a rule that even state had there been contact, an individual would be suspended? I think the NFL looks for anyway to stick it to the Steelers that they can. Shred me if you want, I just get sick of the NFL treating some teams one way and then it is different for us.

You're not wrong, we definitely seem to get made an example of. We also were the only team to vote against the CBA. Think there is a little feud there.

I've always felt that the league didn't like the Rooney's for doing that.

BF, you know I've been a Tomlin critic, but... (I'm with you on this one)

And things are not always as they appear. We can't judge his intent. I'm sure he decided to set up at that very location on the sideline because he knew Jones was going to be running by there in 3..2..1! He should be fined but I still contend that there is nothing in Mike Tomlin's past that would lead any of us to believe that he would intentionally participate in a low class maneuver like that! I've said it before, he would have to be one of the biggest idiots in the NFL to do something like that on purpose with all of the exposure that a nationally televised Thanksgiving Day game commands!

It seems the Steelers should just say "NO" to playing on Thanksgiving. Controversy always seems to follow them when they do.

I'm with you guys on this one. One thing people are not considering is if he was trying to see if he was going to be knocked OOB. He would have to asses the situation before reacting one way or the other.

Also, I've had the same feeling about the outspoken critique of the CBA by members of the Steelers team. They definitely were the only ones to stand by thier guns and point out the lack of real oversight relating to the fines and punishments. They also slapped it in the other teams faces with the "I told you so!" once they started happening!
