You came at me for saying it's silly, with saying I shouldn't decide the risk level for others. But now you're telling me what risk level the ones who do not want to vaccinated....... You are speaking out of both sides of your mouth.

 

No you said it’s silly that the NFL is freaking out over a virus that only kills .05% of those who contract the virus. Maybe that’s too much chance for some. Maybe they don’t want interruptions in the season again.
Quite a big difference in them saying we want everyone vaccinated so they have less of a chance of getting the virus versus “ **** it only .05 people die if they get it.”

I’ll be glad when more companies make it mandatory so we can get on with our live.

Im doing my best to no longer comment on this thread,,, but i have seen numerous docters come out and say that this strain is not as deadly the first.. ... 1000s die of the flu each year but no one is pushing that vaccine down others throat....

I think the "flu" card is getting overplayed. Not really sure it is the rebuttal most people think it is.

 

COVID19 isn't the flu. Everyone should realize this after 1 1/2 years of living with this pandemic.

One reason the death toll decreased in the US is due to vaccines. This much is clear.

 

I’m being serious here. For a drug study my brother knew of, one of the people being tested walked out of the clinic, onto the street, and was hit by a bus. To this day, one of the small print side effects is you may be hit by a bus.

I did not say this was the flu........ I said numerous drs have came out and said the Deta virus wasn't as Deadly as Covid

 

My wife is still raging about my stepdaughter being put on a 72 hr pysch hold because she told her doctor she was having suicidal thoughts because the 3 medications they prescribed her all had side effects of causing suicidal thoughts. My stepdaughter did what she was supposed to do talked to her doctor and got a weekend locked up with drug addicts and pedophiles for her trouble. I understood the reasoning but their execution was poor.

 

Then don’t get it. No one is making you.

You don't want to contract or spred this bug regardless of the variants present. One of the best ways to limit the spread, serious illness, and death is through vaccination.

Covid is still a threat world wide. We are still in the middle of a pandemic.

 

Absolutely right!!! I was forced to get a new iphone and couldn't understand why my DD app was not working. Standing in line an 11 year old girl (I asked later) saw me struggling and kindly took my phone and got it working.

 

Too bad the internet wasn't around in the 1300's. The Black Plague would have had a ton of threads.

I have friends who are on both sides of this argument and both make strong cases.

I though that this article was pretty cool about deadly infectious diseases and how the public handled it before media influence like we have now which is so far left or right.

So this is generally a rights perspective and of course you have fact checkers that are left saying that this thought is not valid!

Does the NFL have a list of Steeler Coaches and Players that are vaccinated? I imagine the union would not like this.

 

but you want "companies" to require it of employees. I got vaccinated. I already had COVID but still got vaccinated. The virus is not going away even with 100 per cent vaccinations. Viruses mutate. So my "company" forcing me to get vaccinated is a non starter. We get flu shots every year because the flu mutates. COVID will do the same thing. It is not going away and will be with us from here on out. People should have the right to refuse a medication that may have side effects not yet realized at this point. No "company" should force it's employees to get a vaccination that did not go through all the protocols of other vaccines.

 

They aren't going to list the individual names of who is vaccinated, but it has been reported that the Steelers organization is 85-90% vaccinated.

 

The Delta Variant is more contagious than Covid-19, it can be more deadly to those that aren't vaccinated.

 

We know more now in medicine than we did in the 60's. Healthcare has improved over time. People are more informed today than in the past. Maybe that's one problem today? Many people get their degrees from the internet.

There is really not a strong case not to get vaccinated at this point. The data is clear. Vaccines reduce the chances of spreading the virus, reduce the chances of serious illness, and death from happening. No vaccine is perfect. There will be reactions to any vaccines or medications. There will be deaths from any vaccines or medications. Risk vs benefit.

That being said, I understand those who don't want to get vaccinated for certain reasons. People that had reaction to vaccines in the past have a valid reason.

The quack pot conspiracy theorists don't have valid reasons not to get vaccinated. Believing that the vaccine is poison or government tracking are not a valid reasons.

What I know as a healthcare professional is that people don't want to take chances catching a bad case of covid.
