New Contract for Boswell!

boz is #2 only behind Tucker. Dj is a top ten receiver. I just don’t think he’s worth 20million per season. To my eyes he’s a bit soft. He seems to shy away from contact.

 

Do you think Boswell has the chance to be the Special Teams Captain this year?

 

No, he really isn't. Tucker is better, but Boswell isn't far behind. That said, Boswell's time as the highest-paid kicker was very short. Tucker got paid about a week later.

Now can we get him in FG range?

 

You could use it to beat off defenders.

 

Boz may not have his best year this season, but it will be no fault of his if the line doesn’t protect him. I can foresee kicks being blocked or him rushing his kicks to avoid being blocked. He just needs to keep his tempo and let it happen.

 

Accuracy might be close but Tucker can nail a kick about 10 yards farther and that comes in handy.

 

Last time we paid Boswell he couldn’t kick for an entire season. I don’t remember Tucker ever having that issue

 

Remember when Jeff Reed beat up the paper towel dispenser at sheetz? Ah the good ole days.

 

they had one of those life size cardboard cutouts of Reed holding a burger at an antique store in the south side tucked away behind a shelving unit. I almost got it, it was signed and all but don’t need anything else for the dogs to hike on. Nor any TP holder mysteriously being yanked off the walls

 

That was the 2018 season. He personally cost us 3 games by missing FG's that would have won the game. The Steelers won 9 games that year and with one more win would have made the playoffs. To his credit though he fixed whatever was wrong and has been really good ever since.

 

We've been kind of spoiled when it comes to kickers. Help me out here, but I can't remember off the top of my head. Who was the last really terrible kicker we had here?

Unless the O-Line comes together, I expect this to be a rough year for Boz through no fault of his own. He very well may miss due to rushing his kicks.

Yeah Kendrick Green missed his block on the chip shot that Boz had blocked last week. How in the heck to you whiff on a block on a FG attempt? Everyone is jammed in tight. He is just so terrible.

 

I often wondered why we have the tendency to get O-Lineman that seemed to be a project. I still think DeCastro may have had another year or two left in the tank. He would have been better last year than some of the guys we have now.
