New Assistant on Defense

Yeah I agree we need that ball hawk back there imo, we need someone with a nose for the ball. I said in one of the draft threads I want to look at S and CB's who are around the ball.

 

the team is trying to improve the coaching ranks so I'll give them that. Austin's role is still pretty unclear but if he is helping the secondary, and that is where his best successes have come from, then that can only help. I mostly remember him from his Detroit days and that was not much to speak about.

I said this around training camp, but I'd put out some feelers on Zach Thomas to coach the ILBs and see if Dwight Freeney wants to come on board as well. Give him a "pass rush specialist", defensive assistant title whatever you want to call it. I'm also looking at Fred Pagac as OLB coach. Coached in Denver with Von Miller and Demarcus Ware (who is the current coach). He is also from Pennsylvania. As he coached, he also probably learned a lot working with those two guys.

 

I like all your ideas would love to see us have a pass rush specialist to work with our guys.
