I didn't get to watch game. Tried to listen as much as I could. Offense must have been great but can somebody give me some info on the defense? I seen kaps numbers and look good but I know they don't tell whole story

I'm in the same boat, couldn't watch. How can a team get 400 yards of offense and only generate 2 TDs?

Was our defense bending but not breaking?

Turnovers and clutch stops. Kap got a lot of yards playing behind by a lot.

They also used a some of the same plays NE did. They would almost always have a safety valve receiver in that 6-8 yard mark on the sideline which allowed Kap to make safe throws that relieved pressure and moved the ball.

The d was much better today but we've still got a lot of work to do. We've gotta get off the field and still we had at least one busted coverage today. Also SF flat out dropped another td. Shazier and Dupree were bright spots. Also Boykin broke up a td but barely seemed to see any playing time whatsoever. I guess he still doesn't have the defense down good enough or we just played so good that we felt it would be ok to hold him out another week because the offense was lighting it up. Heyward had some good plays too and we generated pressure in the backfield pretty consistently but still need to get better at sealing the deal and there was some miserable tackling on display too.

Wasn't one drive something like 17 plays for SF?

Overall the defense looked more menacing - the pressure up front was much better, the blitzes were catching the 49ers by surprise, and the secondary was less invisible.

As BFT says, we still need to improve, and be more consistent. But they did seem to let some mental errors creep in when the 49ers were well behind, and picking up garbage yards.

Defense played well for most of the beginning. It gave me some faith. A lot of the 49ers yards came after we were way ahead. They also didn't throw deep a lot to begin with. In the end I'm not sure they threw more deep and burned U.S. Or if we just played soft with a lead?
