Better asked in the "Need Help?" sub-forum, but since you're here, could you be more specific?

You're trying to upload an avatar. What's going wrong?

Initially i didn't add an Avatar, but went to the prompt "edit avatar" to upload one and it kept saying that it had to be a certain sixe so i kept down sizing it until it became a spec, but still could not submit it.

I figured you'd get better help having your own thread for this. What size is the image you're trying to upload for your avatar?

I'm going to ask a stupid question. Is it a picture? Or a gif?

You cannot use gifs for avatars. I've tried. ;)

Hmmm... something is wrong then. My avatar jpeg is only 6.89 kb.

Or is that before you shrunk it?

I think maybe I know what's going on.

You have to resize the pic to be 160x160 or smaller. Once resized, you have to save it as a new picture. Then upload THAT picture. Your original pic will still be the same size most likely.

Is there a simple way to resize a pic, with Windows paint, or whatever basic photoediting programs come on windows, or do I need to get "Photoshop", or the like?
I tried to "resize" a couple of my phots, by cropping, etc, but couldn`t get them small enough.
Is there a way to simply change the "resolution", of a saved photo, so it`s under 160 x 160 pixels? (then, rename it, obviously... that much I can do... but not the most computer saavy guy out there... ;) )

Yup, sure can use paint. I've never used it personally, but I know that people do. Here's instructions from Microsoft. Resizing with Paint

I see your email, and I see what the problem was. The file is in .docx format. Avatars need to be in an image format like .jpg, .gif, .png. I'll have a look at it a little later and see what I can do for you. :)

I am using windows xp and I did a right click on the photo and there was an option to "resize pictures". Then click "advanced" and select the "custom" button. Then you can enter 160 by 160 in the blanks and save it. It adds (Custom) into the name of the pic, then you can just upload that one when you go into your setting here.
