This was surprising to me as I thought he was actually running more efficiently this season. Wondering if he'll ever be over 4 ypc. For reference, Najee is currently 43rd in the NFL in YPC.

Barkley is averaging 5.5 ypc. Chubb is at 5.7 ypc. Miles Sanders at 4.9. Aaron Jones at 6.8 ypc.

You’re trying to compare a full years worth of stats to 4 weeks?

If Pickett can get the downfield passing going, that'll take defensive players out of the Box and make it easier to run.

Yes, downfield passing will help get defenses out of the box, but I want to see Harris with less hesitation and better vision when hitting the holes.

O-Line getting consistent should help. still a work in progress. the QB change could help as well. if he pushes the ball downfield some more the box should open up a little more.

It went up to 4.1. And he got better when Kenny entered, for to the field was opening.

I'm shocked to find out part of our offense has not been statistically above par. It looks so different when they're on the field.

The running game will never be good until Tomlin and company start to invest into OL personel and not bottom of barrel players. There is a reason they are bottom of barrel.

Our offense has been too predictable for too long. Typical Steelers football run, run, pass. Sometimes we get two successful runs in a row and instead of play action we go right back to the well again. Play action and middle of the field are things we are allergic to.

well, that is not fair - that is for sure. but Najee is trending down, that is for sure. The sched is nice and soft now - NOT! DOH!

but some here are doing the same with OLINE stats, trying to prop this group up. Let it play out. We will lose 12-15 games, that is a reflection in part of a below average OLINE. We will be in the bottom 5 in scoring, that is in part to a poor OLINE.

    next thread please

edit that to: Once TOMIN is GONE and new blood comes in to lead. Under Tomlin, this is as good as it gets. He does not have #7 any longer to bail him out.

I honestly hope we do lose 12-15 games. People like yourself will be gone. You’ll either hop off the bandwagon or stroke out. It’s a win either way.

The offensive line has improved, and hope they keep improving, Every position
needs to improve if we are to get back in this.

He kind of started slow last year as well. I think he's the type of back that gets more YPC with the more touches he gets in game. Who knows how he would've faired in the 4th against the Jets if he was given more than 2 carries down the stretch.

This. Its no surprise that his ypc are down. The line will get better and I feel as well Pickett will make them back off and running lanes should also get better.

Maybe focus on this defense Benny. This is the major issue right now injuries aside.

If he’d hit some of the holes that were there he’d be averaging 4.5 at a minimum. I’ll be honest, guys. I haven’t been overly impressed with Najee. He’s an effort guy, no doubt about that, but he’s not the most instinctive runner I’ve seen by a long shot. I don’t like his career trajectory so far.

Najee was clearly hurt, hopefully he is healing and plays better.
