Good Morning Football announced Najee as finalist for Angry Runner of the Year for this run against Atlanta:

Last year he was named Angry Runner of the Year for this run after catch against Tennessee:

If he continues to play this way I'll gladly eat crow from saying he was possibly a bust in the making for us.

You should eat crow for even suggesting it. LoL There is only about 28 other teams that would take Him in a minute.

Najee Harris' 2022 1st 8 games rushing totals were as follows.

    23, 49, 56, 74, 20, 42, 65, 32
    3.25 YPC Avg.

How could I not consider that to be bust material for a 1st round draft pick?

Last 9 games which you conveniently leave out- last nine games- 633 yards on 164 carries- 3.86 yards/carry. 41 receptions on 53 targets for 229 yards.
And the fact that he was injured at the beginning of the year, our line sucked (which you have pointed out numerous times), and we hadn't figured out how to use Warren yet.

In fact, he has almost 1000 rushing yards and 400 receiving yards more after two years than (checks watch) Derrick Henry, who nobody is calling a bust.

I did not conveniently leave out the last nine games. I purposely left them off because that is where my opinion started to change when I actually started believing it could be a good pick up. The first 8 games he went down by simple first contact and it's hard to deny that. The last nine he was busting tackles even though he still had some not so great games. This is most likely due to his foot healing and the Oline producing better results. Overall he still only had one 100+ yard game for the season running wise. I'm not afraid to say that I believe he was showing signs of being a bust. Now I am excited for his potential. I'm really impressed with what he does in the passing game for our team. He still needs to get his running YPG avg up above 4.3 though for me think it was wise spending a 1st round pick on a RB.

I was calling him Trent Richardson Jr. after the first half of the season but once he got healthy he showed why the Steelers picked him #1 the year before. By the end of the year he was a force to be reckoned with.

Najee's struggles early on were a bit of a concern but he had the Lisfranc in which they tried to keep somewhat quiet until he came out and said he was wearing a steel plate. His injury gave a bigger work load to Warren and then the 1/2 punch was born.

Hopefully Najee continues his 2nd half of the season performance as well as Warren.

Funny how an undrafted player is a potential stud all the while they have had McFarland and Snell underperforming.

Because He was injured, and teams knew He was the only sure thing We had on offense. You think any team looked at Trubisky, and a Rookie Qb, and said.....Hmmmm:hmm:.....We better come up with something to stop the Great Trubisky, and His awesome passing attack????
Hell No.....They looked at us ,and said what do they really got......Najee. Ok ...Let's shut that down.

If you are talking about Derrick Henry's first 2 years in the league where he had around 1250 yards rushing total it's because he was playing 2nd fiddle to star RB DeMarco Murray who came over from Dallas to the Titans on a big money contract. Essentially coming in here and there to give Murray a break.

I've been a little hesitant on Najee up ontil after the bye week when he finally got healthy and was a man on a mission running with the ball. He looked more decisive and was hitting the holes with force. Could be him having more faith in the Oline which finally started to gel aswell. I looked to see what he has to show in year 3 with our 1-2 punch.

Cool, but I'd rather him win the rather ordinary title of averaging 4.0 or more ypc for his career, or even a season. Something which he has yet to do.

His injury was a blessing in disguise. They never would have discovered what Warren could do, they’d have run the wheels off of Najee like they do all their RB’s.

Now they have a powerful 1-2 punch while preserving Najees career.

I watched the NFL Honors show this year, and when that guy who does that segment for NFL Network approached him I'd say Najee was "less than impressed" to say the least. I enjoy his act personally, but I don't think Najee agrees.
