Wow. It didn't take long at all for you to be proven wrong on this one.

That's my reaction to anything he writes at this point, but if Dulac did stumble into being right this time, I'm going to hate being right. It will conclusively prove that the Steelers were stupid to pass on Harris's option and that they don't trust Warren to be a lead back. That is a terrible waste of resources for a team with so many other holes to fill and no second-round pick.

That would be yet another failure by the organization, having to spend a first-round pick on a back when they have so many other needs. All they had to do was keep Harris for one year at a reasonable cost and spend a pick later on his future replacement. That would take advantage of the depth of this year's class at running back while still leaving them with two strong backs for 2025 and allowing them to spend that first-round pick on much-needed help for the defensive line.

Jeanty would be a bad pick

Did not play well against good defense

    Way too small

    Kahn doesn’t draft midgets

Agreed, one partially brought on by the team's decision not to exercise Harris's fifth-year option.

Jeanty ran for over 190 yards against Oregon, some of the RBs they have shown interest in the draft are midgets.

I wouldn't want them to draft Jeanty in the first round, my point was hypothetical.

I didn't think you were advocating for it. I read it as you suggesting it as a strong possibility.

I think Hampton would be a better pick over Jeanty for them at RB, but I don't think they showed much interest in him.

I have been saying for them to go DL in the first round, not a save at all .

Barry Sanders was a midget, and he turned out to be pretty good .

Jeanty or Hampton would start over Warren and keep him as the 3rd down RB where he belongs ;)

Steelers made a huge mistake drafting him #1. He might do well on another team but he doesn't seem to have the initial burst speed.

They may have made an even bigger mistake by keeping him on the fifth-year option. If they end up using a first-rounder on a running back again this year instead of addressing their needs up front, that means they really don't trust Warren to be a lead back, so they should have kept Harris to share the load this season. They should have done it anyway, but that would be more definitive evidence.

Luckily they won’t waste a pick doing that.
