I'm annoyed that they are even giving him carries. Harris and Warren aren't getting the ball enough. Both are much better options than Patterson.

I missed that. He was getting some good reviews in camp, surprised he didn’t catch on anywhere.

They had Jonathan Ward on the PS. Don’t know much about him.

At any rate, they can replace him for cheaper. Clearly they didnt think he was worth it.

i think they are letting Jaylen get to full speed / heal. Long season.

Got by with 80% of our best effort but it will require full throttle soon.

    Chargers D is tough.

    another dog fight this week.

    ball protection remains critical!!

Now answer this. Which Qb do You believe the D thinks they have to respect more in the passing game.... Chargers Qb, or ours???
So with that in mind.....do you not think the spaces will be bigger to run in. I don't know how to make this simpler, but when a team has to worry about the passing game it make the running game easier. It's harder to defend.
Also let's look at D. Henry....
    18 for 84 yards
13 for 46 yards.....this is what happens when big backs don't get their carries

Herbert has almost as bad of weapons as us at WR. I will give you he’s a better QB than anyone we have. Still Najee is greatly overrated by Steeler fans he is an average NFL RB. Middle of the road. 16 out of 32 ish.

Once again you are just posting inaccurate bull****

Najee was 6th in rushing last year and that was while splitting time with Warren

Thst appears 7th. And rushing yards alone doesn’t necessarily rank a RB overall. They also catch passes and score TDs.

I will however give you I didn’t think he was as high as 7th rushing yards.

And if you look at the total yard list he also is very good especially considering Warren took almost equal snaps

Sidebar comment....Warren has really picked up his pass protections game so far this season as well.

Harris caught 70 passes as a rookie, then the next two seasons they made Warren the third down back.

That's the puzzling thing to me? I was impressed with Najee's pass catching his rookie year, and he was hard to bring down once he did. Is Warren really a better receiver than Najee? Judging from what I saw from Najee his rookie year, and what I've seen from Warren the last two years, I'd say it's debatable. At any rate, I'd like to see them pass the ball more to Najee

He has always been able to level guys. His issue in the past was picking up the right blitzer. Sometimes, he will look one way and miss a free rusher he should have picked up.

He is a good receiver, but Warren is more dangerous in the open field. He has been very good at catching passes short of the line to gain, but outracing defenders or breaking tackles to get a first down.

And that issue has improved for him so far.

I would have to go back and watch the first two games more closely. I don't remember any glaring screw-ups by Warren, though there have been plenty by the line.

The OP in the thread on Fields vs Broncos is an all22 done by Chase Daniel. There is also a version of it on YT. He's mainly showing you routes and reads but you can easily pick out #30 on those plays.

So would Najee IMO. The two times they threw to him that I can remember this year.....one was at his shins, and the other was way behind him

Yeah I wish they did as well. I tried defending the front office for not picking it up and I understand why they didn’t. I really hope we can start getting some more chink plays out of the run game. The opposing teams are still stacking the box because of the lack of threat from the passing game.

Yup, he had some good pickups in the film breakdown of Fields that I posted.

As much as I hate to say it I wouldn't call Etienne explosive. I was a huge fan of his coming out of the draft. He is a decent player but I honestly think Najee was the better choice.

Well I'll be dang. I was wondering if You ever changed Your mind. I remember us having arguments about it back then. I've been wanting to ask, but some people think I'm picking on them, or messing with them if I comment with them too much. So I didn't want You to think that.

LOL. Yeah I remember arguing with you and @Blast Furnace@Blast Furnace. Neither turned into once in a lifetime backs. Najee is more durable, and I am just not sure that Etienne could hold up behind our constant offensive line woes.
