Do we add $20k for every yard he's hit behind the line of scrimmage because the line sucks?

Isn't 9:16 past your bedtime? I'd like to know when it's safe to push my disinformation agenda around here.

Propaganda aside, I included a link to the referenced report because I was the author and needed the clicks because I'm not familiar with the reliability of Steelers Depot. I also included "possibly" and "nothing definitive yet". So I'd like my case dismissed. :stogie:

Not sure what part you are saying not exactly to but he did say it:

“I’ve been knowing how Mason plays since my rookie year, so it wasn’t nothing I wasn’t expecting for him not to do,” Johnson said. “I kind of had high hopes of him doing what he’s been doing when he became the starter.” “Like I said, hopefully he gets the job next year, and do what he’s got to do, but he did a great job in my opinion.”

    https://steelerswire.usatoday.com/2...ntae-johnson-mason-rudolph-kenny-pickett-nfl/

If you are saying not exactly as in thats not an example of your OP, then fine but just because people use the word “report” doesn’t mean they are stating it as iron clad fact. I think most people know that and this is just a pet peeve for you.

The O Line doesn't start blocking until about the 9th game of the season. And people wonder why our offense is stagnant.

the line was blocking at times when the young qb would leave the pocket too early and yet we blame the line. the qb was terrible. the OC was terrible. many of these problems were why the offense was stagnant. the bad snaps from the released center will make things look a little different. i really don't want a rookie taking that over with a veteran line. get a vet center that isn't ancient and move on with other parts of the offense that need work. meyer isn't a terrible line coach. they know him now. fix the qb. learn the new OC. hopefully the new OC and line coach can work together well. we don't have to reinvent the wheel here.

    Do it.

cle paying $11 million on RBs in 2024.
Cin paying $10 million on RBs
Balt paying $4 million on RBs but $33 million more on their leading rusher, a QB.

$7 million for Harris seems reasonable. Especially seeing all the draft capital we’ve spent over the last 10 years for squat RB talent.

another poster said Najee should give money back every time he’s tackled behind the line. I’m wondering how much the O line will help pay.

It's a no brainer to extend the 5th year option. Focus on the offensive line.

Then re-evaluate next year Warren might be the guy ultimately that gets a multi year deal.

I have no problem with paying him 7 mil for one year.

Once the conversation of a 3-5 year extension starts, things change.

That would be horrible. I'm hoping he finds a nice NFC team.

Good point but the Steelers look serious about upgrading the O-line so make it 10K.

Because the line wasn't blocking. They stunk until the last 6 games of season
Need to start game 1 not game 10. Should have replaced oil coach while they
    Were replacing the oc.

Interesting. Could Smith not be sold on Najee?

Give Najee the 5th year but by NO means you sign him to a big money deal.

I posted about the play calls on first and ten where we threw the ball 15 times the whole season. Do you think that was something DCs ignored? Set us up for failure on 2nd and then the inaccuracies of the qb even from clean pockets at times. Equals a lot of 3 and outs which doesn't let a run game get moving. You then get behind and have to abandon the run, which in turn makes it look like the run blocking was the failure. Let's add in the right tackle that we finally benched.

Or they could be working on an extension and just don’t need to go with the 5th year just

Sort of like tagging a guy you don’t do it until you have to if you are in negotiations

I just don’t see negotiations going well

Harris is on his 4th year in 2024. Why are we concerned about this now?

Steelers should be able to sign both Harris and Warren to new contracts. RBs are cheap these days.

OF COURSE. the 5th year will be his last year here.

and good point mentioned - had the years wrong - NO NEED to fret about this now, as this is his 4th SEASON upcoming.

    DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT!
