What Butler says makes sense to a point, but I wouldn't read too much into anything the coaches say to the media. We wanted answers, so he gave us one. I would find it hard to imagine that someone as savvy as Tomlin would deploy his particular media strategies and not feed them down to his coordinators.

Labriola was talking on steelers.com the other day about how he can hear Tomlin screaming at the team after a bad loss, because he's so loud it echoes through the halls of the complex. Labriola basically said: you won't see him do it in a press conference, because what would the point be?

I figure there's something similar with Butler and this question. It's not that he's lying or anything, just that he's probably summing up a whole range of issues he's attempting to deal with in his defensive gameplan, and that was the easiest route to go.

I would also imagine he's spending a lot of time at the whiteboard trying to work out how to generate pressure with the tools he has, and the different skill sets that Burns and Davis have shape a lot of that. It wouldn't surprise me if he was overthinking some of it - not only because he's a new-ish DC, but also because he rubs shoulders with Haley - but I have faith things will improve.
