    Overall:
-Get as healthy as we can
-I'm still old school: One game at a time. We have to win vs PHI. That's the most important game of the season: the one ahead of us.
-Trade Deadline is week 8.... are we going to do something about it?
-Figure out how to run the football. Not everything is just power runs, sweeps and delays. We don't need 200+yd games, but an average of 4.0 yd/carry, 25-30 carries per game will be pretty nice.
-Whatever happens to our running game, keep everyone involved in the passing game
-Our D got exposed. That should make our rivals think they have a blueprint to attack us. Our D scheme should benefit from JH & TP coming back, and coach LeBeau should figure out how to turn things around and make our opponents approach work against them.

    Injury front personal messages:
-Mendenhall: you're on contract year. No need to say anything else.
-DeCastro: hope you're feeling better and starting rehab. We need you, and we need you ahead of schedule.
-Harrison & Troy: Welcome back! Having you healthy should mean an upgrade. And by upgrade I mean pressure to the opposing QB & no blown leads.

Message to the fans on this board:
Calm down: There's still a lot of football to be played.
    Look at w3 standings last year http://www.shrpsports.com/nfl/stand.php ... k=Week%203

    Personal reminder:
Once the schedule was released, I thought this sunday should be great to do some stuff.
Later on, mid-july, I thought this week must be decisive for the Pirates and their Pennant or WC race. I was planning to watch on TV every game of the Pirates on this stretch (well, not every game but the ones played when I'm at home), with emphasis on this weekend games.
Now, I will enjoy the last games of the Pirates, play some Madden and hopefully enjoy some of this sunday's games.

    Enjoy a stress-less week everyone!

Once again, WWW hits the nail firmly on the head.

I would be surprised if we do anything about the trade deadline, but who knows? This summer saw us do some crazy things.

I fully agree with evrything you said WWW! One game at a time boys. I am praying that these guys take this off week and seriously work on the problems we have. One would think that the defense should be ashamed of the way they have been playing, accept resposibility and man up. One would also think that DL would also be pissed that every team in the NFL has figured him out and try some new stuff from here on out. If not then they dont deserve to win in the first place. Im praying they take this seriously enough and want to change. There is alot of potential with this team, just need to work out some of the kinks. One game at a time mentality and the wins will start piling up for us!!! :herewego:

and the Barry Bonds curse continues. not really a curse, but they havent been relavent since they decided to keep Van Slyke over Bonds. what are they at, 20 years and counting since they had a winning record?

i was a huge Pirates fan. i was actually a Pirates fan before i was a Steelers fan. i was 4 or 5 years old when i started watching the Pirates. i havent been a fan since they had a fire sale in 93 and became a minor league team for the rest of the league. such a proud history. such a shame they have become one of the worst sports franchises.

i will always love my team even when they arent very good, but i cant love a team that has an ownership that was only intrerested in the money and didnt care about the fans.

My only WISH for this week is the Browns pull off the miracle win vs the Ravens......SERIOUS FUN!

As for trade deadline....I truly feel the Steelers should attempt to trade Sly and a middle round pick for Rolando McClain.....just to get his services for next season. If he ends up suspended or misses time due to jail its a later round....if he doesn't then its maybe a 3rd or 4th......Maybe even a 2.

I think with the right coaching McClain could be our next Farrior....a guy who under performed with his previous team....but buys into the system and becomes a fan favorite. McClain and Timmons in the middle.......and lets us focus on DB and OLB in the draft.

I would hope alot of these players look in the mirror and are saying to themselves i have to
to pick it up, I have to get better, I have to give 110 % all the time. I don't think we are seeing
this type of effort. The effort needed to be a championship team.
