My thoughts on the Steelers off-season (so far)

Love the moves or hate the moves you can't say the Steelers are sitting on their hands this off-season.

 

Was going to say the same thing but then you get the classic line, "just scroll by if you don't want to read it!".

Or:

"It's a message board, isn't this what it's for?"

 

I have much better ways to expend my emotions than being angry with an irrelevant quarterback. I can say this...I am very disappointed in Kenny and had high hopes when we first drafted him. His performance on the field has obviously been a disappointment, but the way he's behaved over the last several months culminating in the team giving up on him (after a transfer portal, er, I mean tread request) and trading him after only two seasons has far exceeded that level of disappointment.

 

How is that hijacking the thread? He mentions Kenny in no. 9 above when he talks about Kenny's time being up and I was just adding some context.

And we've got another member who fancies himself as the board police and he doesn't need any help.

 

Well, yeah.

And I'll add that this is probably the biggest off-season Steelers news in 20 years (or longer). Our esteemed first round quarterback jettisoned, at his request, after only two season. I would expect ALOT of conversation about that on a Steelers message board. At some point, we'll get back to talking about the mundane and ordinary team things, but it is the off-season after all and this is the biggest development of the off-season.

 

You seem to have an unhealthy disdain for the man but you do you.

 

Do you want to know what else a message board is for? Light-hearted ribbing of one another. If I'm going to suffer through the endless back and forth you guys seem to want to engage in, the least that you could do is endure a little ribbing from me.

 

You're ridiculous. I don't have an unhealthy disdain for anybody. So we can't strongly express our opinions on a player (or now a former player) without you accusing someone expressing those opinions of trying to make it something personal? As I've said, I am extremely disappointed in Pickett both on and off the field. I'm not the only one to share that opinion, but yet I have an unhealthy disdain for him.

And there it is. I wondered how long it would take you into this conversation to get snarky about it.

 

I'm fine with good-natured ribbing and do plenty of that myself, but I don't like being accused of having a personal disdain for a player just because I express a strong opinion on him. I've never attacked Kenny personally. There are those here who make fun of his tiny hands and call him a little b*tch and other unnecessary names. All of my criticism has come from his own words and actions but yet I am the one who has an unhealthy disdain for him.

 

Who got snarky first?

On most threads, it eventually devolves into a couple of people arguing back and forth about the brains or lack of on the other side. Normally, this doesn't occur until a thread reaches six or seven pages. This one got right to it on the first page! Lol

 

Yeah I get all that, but the reality remains that we didn't get a lot and we have a starting WR hole to fill.

 

Nothing personal, my friend. We all get a little edgy at times when discussing the team we're all passionate about and I've always enjoyed our interactions. I look forward to more.

You may have better emotional outlets, but that is the one that seems to be consuming you. Everything but him requesting the trade is based on rumors and stuff you made up in your own head, not actual information.

 

I guess I just don't get as worked up about this team as I used to. Things beyond my control aren't worth it. I certainly don't like how the entire Pickett situation unfolded but it simply doesn't bother me enough to engage in a back and forth page after page. That sh!t is in the past and there will be more than enough things for guys to argue over in the coming months.

 

Make it an event until the start of the season!!
