    IDK

He has zero touchdowns in two games and that is on pace to match DJ’s total of zero for a whole season and @Brice wants to drive him back from Carolina

Plus he is averaging 5.4 yards per punt return which if you adjust for his height is almost average

    That would be pretty asinine

Pickett is a quitter who tucked tail and ran

QB play around the league has not been great overall. When that happens defenses and special teams have more of an impact. The Steelers biggest issue is offensive penalties stopping drives. Fix that, the offense improves, wins continue.

Problem for Pickett was not just about the first 2 start last season.....He had 24 starts and almost zero progression in year 1 and 2....Fields has only 2 starts with us

Our offense were btw worst in the first 2 games last season.I mean they had zero first down in the first 28 minutes vs 49ers and it was too late after that, they won vs Browns thank to 2 defensive TD,but the offense had only 9 first down

So I will give him that. He is mediocre as a PR and doing nothing as a WR 2 Recs for 13 yards in 2 games. Getting back to my point about the Steelers not knowing how to use him. Perhaps its a small sample and he improves. I just don't see it.

    He’s a small receiver

I just don’t see it as well

I keep hearing this comparison. Some fans completely miss the point that defenses are a lot different now. Two high safeties force offenses to throw underneath. Mahomes went from 80+ deep passes his first year starting to just 56 last year.
Roethlisberger's last two seasons pretty much the same. The same opportunities are just not there with a modern defense.

I’m saying the Steelers are no better off. Fields had more time to develop and still has the same issues with being lost when his first or second read isn’t open and taking sacks by holding the ball too long. I'm not just talking about last season. I'm talking about what we have seen of him so far as a Steeler. If you want to look at his entire career, which is the way that makes the most sense, he has a history of ugly turnovers and failing miserably in the fourth quarter. It is great that he has avoided the turnovers so far, but it takes more than two games to prove that three years of error-prone ball are suddenly behind him.

If the team needs a drive at the end of the game to win, who would you trust more? Pickett or Fields? If you said Pickett, your choice fits the available evidence. He has proven he can handle those situations effectively. If you chose Fields, you should look up his fourth-quarter statistics from last season.

The Bears are pissed at Williams now! What part of you are only as good as your offensive line.

I still think it was a mistake to give up DJ without having a replacement in mind; that said I can't help but be impressed with Donte Jackson's play.

As for Calvin Austin, In the Denver game I kept seeing Scotty Miller or Skowronek lined up on the outside running those Deep GO routes being completely unable to get separation from the DB, and couldn't help but think what Calvin Austin could have done. Not sure why Arthur Smith does not use Calvin Austin more on the outside to stretch the field. I remember all those RAINBOWS Calvin was catching in his first camp from Mason.

How often have we seen him get open in actual games? Not much. I thought he was a great pick when they took him, but so far, the guy has been a bust.

I see we have Nantz and Romo doing the TV for the game. I like it.

Might be interesting what Romo says about the play calling and how good Fields is handling the offense.

Good point. Say what you will about Pickett, but the guy definitely wasn't a choker. Of course if the defense gives you as many opportunities in the 4th quarter as they did for Pickett, he's bound to help them score a TD eventually
