I don't see it happening they drafted those two tackles in the first round to be their book ends on the OL.

Almost as bad as the, I believe they called it intentional grounding on Russell. LoL....as I watched Winston do the exact same pass at least 3 more times in that game ....without a call

Doesn't mean anything. They drafted KFP, and T. Edmunds to be the Starters, and where are they???
One is A backup, and the other cannot find a team to keep him.

It still bothers me that CB Trent McDuffie was available in the 2022 draft but we went with Kenny Pickett. Last night against the Chargers, McDuffie was the best player on the field.

Harris and Warren - 25 carries and 100 yards. Patterson 4 carries and 3 yards and one catch for -2 and fumble.

But Patterson is such a dynamic kick returner, oh wait he can't do that very well either.

I still remember people saying Patterson was a better rb than Najee earlier in the season

I have thought of something like that as well, and agree if/when they put the 18th game on, ncrease the number of overseas games I think another bye week will be in the cards.

By the time it got to be our pick and seeing all the QB needy teams pass one after the other, I started getting a bad feeling and was thinking to myself don’t do it, the talk about it being a bad draft class for QB’s must be true.

Sadly though they did. One of the worst reaches ever.

The last time I checked we were mid in the plus side, but that much will make Omar a very happy man, lol. If you could sign Moore it would be a plus, having both T's without proven time in their respective positions (if you move Jones to LT), but I think a guy who has played 4 years, has 2 1st round picks in the wings and has an opportunity to choose where he plays would be something hard to pass up.

Thought he was among the worst of the bunch but none in that draft class was first rd talent.

Say what you will about Tomlin but I don't know too many coaches that would have gone 14-10 with Kenny Pickett as the starter.

No, it really wasn't. He wasn't even as bad a reach as Edmunds. I'm not sure there were any draft predictions that had him outside the first round and many had him in the top 10. Hindsight doesn't change that and that argument never made sense. That the other quarterbacks weren't good prospects is irrelevant to evaluating Pickett. Even the hindsight fails to mention that he was handled horribly by the Steelers from his first start right through the moment they traded him. You can talk about the bad feeling all you want, but you wanted Willis. I wanted them to take Linderbaum, though I was fine with Pickett.

At the same time though, I felt they handled his development awfully.

Even if everything was handled perfectly, the most you were probably looking at with Pickett was Derek Carr level.

Willis was worse, though if I remember correctly, you wanted him in the first round. Ridder was far worse. So was Corral.

Will wouldnt have fared any better if thrown in the fire the same way but the difference is I always acknowledged that Willis needed to be developed, that his arm and athletic ability was great and that if he could learn the X’s and O’s he’d be a very good QB.

He wasn’t a first rd QB and neither was anyone else in that class including Pickett. Terrible pick and mistake.

In hindsight, that sounds about right. I also think that rather than credit Tomlin for overcoming Pickett's limitations, we should be criticizing him for handling Pickett so poorly. Tomlin simply refused to trust him and that led to Pickett losing his aggressiveness. At Pitt, Pickett was a tough, aggressive quarterback who did much of his damage attacking the middle of the field. We saw non of that most of the time with the Steelers. Much of the fault of that fall on Tomlin.

Your hindsight is serving you well there. He was a mistake, but one that could have been managed into something of value if Tomlin had a clue how to develop a young quarterback. He doesn't.

Many of us wondered if his ceiling was that of Carr prior to playing here. I was hoping it would be Cousins level of play but that was wishful thinking.
