    unofficial, from mikeyg:

    1) No way in *#%$ that Highsmith plays.
    2) Doubtful on Jackson.

Question is: how healthy is Trice?

Move Sutton outside maybe - I know he sucks as starter and pure cover, but it is either he or St. Pierre. It is that time of season, where ALL rosters get thin.

Is Pickett the Eagles #2 or #3?

Thanks, I wasn't really sure of the current pecking order. There's a chance that he can start a game for the Eagles, but only if Hurts gets injured, or if the Eagles secure the #1 seed and want to rest Hurts for the playoffs.

Yeah, that was a crucial tackle. They came up with key plays when they needed them the most, that was the difference.

This team is really clicking. There is still some meat on the bone yet they are still winning. That game could have been 30 - 14. We got robbed of a blocked field goal. They literally faced masked our guy coming around the edge who was actually close to getting there. They missed the hold on Watt in their end zone which would have been a safety. The bothered fake punt. The fumble at the goal line.

You are correct Jones is the weak link. Not sure if it is technique, foot work, motivation. They can not move him to LT next year he would really be a liability on the blind side. They are either going to have to resign Morre or move Fautanu over there.

I would still like to see more from Benton and Ogunjobi. They had some nice plays but more consistency from them. Watt is getting double and triple teamed they should be free’d up.

Finally Queen lit it up. A big part of this is we are finally playing a little more aggressive on defense with run and pass blitzes. We need to do this more. We even played press man when we blitzed which made a difference until they started throwing PI flags on us. Some of those were really tacky tac. I am surprised we played man as much as we did because that is risky turning your back on a running QB like that.

I am excited by Tomlins aggressiveness from a coaching standpoint. I think this is what we need to beat KC, Baltimore and Buffalo and Cincy.

Areas that need work are Jones, getting Williams and Preston Smith up to par, Friermuth still needs to work on his blocking, better coverage over the middle of the field and communication between Minkah and the perimeter CB’s. Jaylen Warren needs to put two hands on the ball in traffic, would like to see someone challenge Donte Jackson some at CB. Yes he has had some splash plays but he really is a liability when we blitz because he plays off way to far always giving up a free outlet to the QB.

I'm not going to pretend I'm a huge Tomlin supporter, but if this team goes 12-5 (which is entirely possible right now) he deserves strong consideration for COTY.

I have flipped flopped back and forth. I had been his biggest supporter up until the last few years. My biggest issue with him was his stubbornness to stick with with players or coaches who were under performing and his conservative pay style on both offense and defense. He has shown this year that he has been willing to make risks wether it was getting rid of Deontae Johnson or not going with the safe choice of sticking with Fields (which I actually wanted) and he also got a new OC and WR coach. He has been willing to support Khan in being aggressive in building the team and he has been starting to be more aggressive on both offense and defense.

Same. I have been done with Tomlin for a while. Maybe I was wrong? Who knows.
All I know is we can give credit when it’s warranted. Some people can’t post without complaining about Tomlin.
    It’s exhausting.

I watched it a few times as well. Plus they played the replay about 900 times. The point where he touched the ball looked far enough to get the first. But the point where he had control was not. Unfortunately for him, his momentum had him going the wrong direction for that to work out.

Then our guys came up and did a fantastic job of putting him on the ground without giving him a single inch headed downfield beyond what he already had.

What exactly goes into being coach of the year? I don't know that Tomlin rates coach of the year, but I keep seeing a lot of people talk about it. He's winning, but there's a couple teams with better records. He's got good players, so it's not like he's doing all of this with a bunch of no name rookies. The team's been winning the entire year, so it's not like there's been a big turnaround.

As far as the Steelers go, the coach that has given us the most improvement is probably Danny Smith. Special teams has been doing a phenomenal job this year. They have gone from non-existence to a force on the field when compared to previous years.

Don't care much about COTY stuff, but I will give him credit for not being satisfied with the likes of Kenny Pickett (1st round pick) and then also Justin Fields, who while serviceable wasn't lighting it up.

I do think some in the media are getting carried away with the praise of how bold it was to switch to Wilson. I thought it was close to a no-brainer. It's certainly not some genius move like some are trying to make it out to be.

On #5. JPJ has always been "grabby" and I don't know if he's really capable of changing his style at this point. I remember watching his Penn State highlight reel when we drafted him and thinking, "wow, every single one of these plays is a penalty in the NFL". Friggin' Marlon Humphrey is the same way though, so if they call it one way they'd better call it the other.

Agreed...and also think that it was always the plan. I'm sure Justin knew it was the plan as well...but good for him to maybe give Tomlin a slight bit of pause.

Just finished watching the game. Agree with most as usual but some small disagreements. In a vaccum, number eight is correct. However, let us not forget Jaylen Warren's fumble near the goal line. That had far greater impact in the game than others are giving it credit. Had Pittsburgh scored on that drive, the scoreboard looks much, much different. Biggest disagreement though I have is with number two.

Broderick Jones played the best game of his career yesterday. Let me repeat that; the current whipping boy played his best game after a bye. People may way to credit BroJo for those sacks given up but let's not forget that Russell Wilson loves to extend plays. As a result, the likelihood of him getting sacked is far greater than a QB who can operate more efficiently in the pocket. Run blocking though is were BroJo truly shined.

After a first half of a Sophomore Season to forget, perhaps having that bye week aided him a great deal. Granted, Kyle Van Voy is no joke but I do have faith that Broderick Jones can stack good performances now.

They were also 1-16 in this situation from 2021 to 2023
