I'm with you that the ball should have gone to Gainwell, but I don't buy for a second that Rodgers did that just to try to do his guy a favor. For some reason, he trusts MVS. To be fair to him on that last play, Ward absolutely got away with pass interference. He never turned around and brought his arms down over the receiver's arms before the ball arrived.

Rodgers also made the wrong decision on third down. Freiermuth had his man beat at the goal line. Rodgers needs to see that and take the easier throw.

The play call was the problem for the first time,...I would have liked the chances with the tush push with Heyward.

For the second fourth down, I would have been upset if they hadn't been... No guarantees, they would have had the ball back if they had punted.

It gave them a shot on that fourth down and one more if they could get the stop, which they did. I don't hate it.

Going for the fourth-and-one instead of taking the field goal, however, was stupid.

Offensively it was clear they were more worried about Garrett getting the record against us than making good play calls. I wish he had gotten the record in the 1st quarter and taken the storyline away so the offense could open up a bit more and not worry about it. We were clearly living in our fears today

On paper the Browns D is better, but that's in a vacuum. Paired with that offense, the Browns defense isn't really that good. The Browns give up 22.6 points per game. The Ravens allow 23.3 points per game. The Browns have allowed 20 or more points in 11 games. The Ravens have allowed 20 or more in only 8 games.

If the Ravens pound it with Henry, the TOP might be 40-20, helping their defense.

He's going to get it next week and no one will give a crap that it's in 17 games, other than TJ Watt's friends and family.

3 times in a row, he absolutely was.

    He trusts Gainwell, too.

I think he was more worried about that than playing the game. His throwing was so far out wack it was ridiculous. Another thing that pisses me off is the coach not using Muth more.

It's not all on the coaches if PF isn't thrown the ball.

I wonder if they would have gone for 2 and the win

This is why Rodgers always had incredible TD to int ratios. He got sacked and would not take chances when needed.

One of those stats that look good on paper until you watch the games.

    Doubtful.

A tie would have won them the division.

A tie next week wins them the division.

I understand what you're saying there but, The tie in this case just meant overtime. Do the Steelers take their chances in overtime or go for the win

Why does this team not use the middle of the field , they have a route tree that must look like a giant U . Then when they do ( passes to Muth ) they stop going to it.
Someone mentioned the Browns have two good inside LB's but one was hobbled for most of the second half. This has been going on since Ben retired.
They didn t want the Duck throwing over the middle, then they were protecting the rookie Pickett or Canada just ignored it , then Wilson was too short.
They just surrender a 1/3 of the field. Smith comes up with one surprise play a game the run by Heyward, Smith is like Canada 2.0.

Sorry, but no. Rodgers is a weird dude, but no way in hell am I buying that. He thought he had a good matchup and played all three times. The first two, he was right, but MVS screwed it up. The third time, it wasn't great, but Ward got away with pass interference.

Was Rodgers wrong to put too much faith in one of his guys? Absolutely. Did he force that just to do the guy a favor? Come on. You need better evidence than what you have to make that claim.

If it had come to that, the right call would have been to take their chances in overtime. The defense was by far their best unit. Their offense struggled all day. No way you put everything on the offense like that, especially when a tie still accomplishes the goal. Remember, the only points the Browns scored after their first two drives came after the Steelers handed it to them by turning it over on downs deep in their own territory.

Seemed like the outside run plays were working. Don`t know why we didn`t do more there.

Can get twenty WR1's and 2's. What will they really achieve when Tomlin doesn't allow the offense to use middle of field. Been the same M.O. for years

I think it was fine to go for it there, just pick a high percentage play.

What were the high-percentage plays today? There weren't any. The offense was that bad. In a game like that, you take points when you can get them.

Their Tush Push/Pitt Push/Whatever and the fake outside runs out of that formation have been effective. It was only 4th and 1. I'm good with going for that with an actual good play call.

Found myself not really that invested as the 2nd half dwindled and it was looking bleak. Been hit over the head with this coaching too many times, too many games, too many years.

It was very hard to listen to the broadcast. The dinky su@king by Romo and Nance was so over the top. A first-timer would have thought Sanders was a 1st rounder. The sack (91?) got I am pretty sure Nance wet his undies with anticipation.

I'll root for them next week but can't see how they win without receivers. haha holy gosh it is so frustrating when they NEVER use the middle of the field. ahhhhhh to be a Steelers fan

Come on Man... You just not been paying attention all year long. The Steelers have NO #2 WR, because Khan and Tomlin traded way Pro Bowl WR George Pickens and then brought in JUNK to replace him.

Polich a Turd all you want it is still a Turd who can't be your #2 WR!!!
