    1. Mitch Trabisky looked really good in the 2 min offense..... Any chance we try more no huddle (too soon????)

    2. Kenny Pickett has me comfortable with the future of the position

    3. Damontae kazee's injury totally sucks

    4. Final 2 wr spots are gonna be extremely tough to pick

    5. Run defense is gonna struggle throughout the season

    6. Can't believe the o-line already has me scouting next yrs replacements

    7. Minkah looked pretty good as a blitzer

    8. Presley harvin is looking to have a big bounce back yr

    9. Boz is definitely earning that big paycheck

    10. Will Mason get traded before the season

Agree with all of this. My sister said that Najee has a sprained liscfranc so, if that's accurate, that sucks as well.

    11. Mike Tomlin left too many elite players in for far too long risking stupid injuries. (I mean we already know what Najee, Cam and TJ Watt can do. Is it really wise to have them play an entire half of a meaningless game?)

I agree with this. I am glad Tomlin played the starters in the game. But Watt and Najee played way too long. There just wasn't a reason for that.

I can't believe I was screaming at the TV for a meaningless game but I was screaming, "take out the damn starters."

We have to have him healthy for any chance at a decent season.

Some beat writer is wanting attention. Harris was taken out on what was about to be his final drive. however Tomlin said him and Watt would have returned if this was a regular season game.

furthermore to all the people who scream, "how dare you start starters". understand that
    1. They need to warm up and gel
    2. they have rust they need to get kicked off
    3. if they cannot handle a quarter or two, they are clearly not ready for a regular season game where they play all 4 quarters.

I had a Bengals fan over the house and he was even saying how stupid it was to be playing most of our starters for an entire half of that meaningless game.

I am normally right with you on this....but, for some reason, this game just had me feeling like someone was about to get carted off and I'm not sure why?

I am old school. It used to be starters would play a series or two in game 1, a quarter in game 2, a half in game 3, and a series or two in game 4. I liked that approach.

Times have changed. Very few teams are doing that, and Tomlin hasn't done that in quite some time.

Like I said, I agree with playing the starters yesterday. I just think he kept Najee and Watt in way to long. The risk far outweighed the reward IMO.

I think he still went with the old approach of the old ways. "Half for Game 3". Due to we have 2 weeks off.

This was from training camp near the start of it. Luckily not a fracture, if its a fracture its usually season ending.

Its what did Travis Ettinne last season for the Jags and he missed his whole rookie season.

    Najee was given very
Najee's was from the start of training camp. Not during the game yesterday.

They had 2 do the best they could 2 make their decision at Qb look better before the season starts, and that means the Defense making short field after short field, and best help at the running game. Notice as soon as Trubisky came out....no more of any of the others.
No....I'm not hating on Trubisky....I'm just pointing out what happened. I swear, and Promise when He steps on that field....I root for Him 100 %.....just don't anyone tell Me(blow smoke up My A$$) it was a real Qb competition....Real Qb competitions don't have just one Qb take snaps every game with the ones. Go Steelers

    My observations:

    - the o line is not very good and we can’t afford to be this bad at running the football
    - I was pleased to see the range of passes and the use of the middle of the field from all QBs
    - the penalties were silly and need to be fixed
    - not sure who makes the WR corps but I’ll be happy with most combinations
    - RB is a different story
    - people can stress on how much the starters play but the coaches have all the medical, physio and position coach advice to go off, so it would have been an informed decision

Are you saying they played the starting defense to make Trubisky look good? That’s a… stretch.

I can see both sides of the argument. I'm more on the side of maybe one qtr. at most. I'm pretty sure Brady will not have any rust and I don't think he played a single down in pre-season. If your body is in shape which it should be since they are paying them an enormous amount to stay tip top all year round the seasoned vets should not need much work in a pre-season game. Imagine Watt had an injury in a meaningless game. Imagine how insane this board would be.

I watched this silly NFL Network show during off season and they they were talking about the Playoffs teams from last season. The one talking head stated something to the effect that you take Watt out of the equation the Steelers are not 9-7-1 but 5-12. I kinda agree with him. And that is why I was yelling get him the F out of there.;)

Off topic: When you take a peek at last seasons final regular season records our boys finished a 1/2 game behind the AFC Champions. A 10-7 team went to and damn near won the Super Bowl. I tell ya this if that offensive line can just be respectable this team could have us sweating balls come January. Which is always a great time to sweat.:)

Lost Kazee..And almost Watt and DJ...but that dumb A** " You can't box without sparring " He always has a stupid A** saying, When he does something completely boneheaded ( which is a lot )

And he thinks these stupid A*"sayings he says are smart and cute... They're not, they're just stupid like him

3 great players in Cam, Watt, and Minkah and a whole lot of Meh... Actually, Worse than Meh

I thought Mason missed his opportunity in this game. His action was very limited, but he definitely did not make the most of it.

He had only 1 series, but after the Pass Interference call that set him up with a new set of downs; they gave him the ball to pass on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd down and he failed to pick up a 1st down on 3 straight passing attempts.

I'm kind of in the middle on this. I agree that Watt stayed in the game too long, but Kazee isn't even a starter. Also, he is new to the team. It absolutely made sense for him to play.

There was some logic to Johnson playing, too. Trubisky needs some game reps with his receivers. It's not like he played all that much, either. He was hurt on the second offensive possession.

I'm completely surrounded by them. On my Street. At my work. At the restaurants. I've heard more Who Deys? than you could ever imagine and they all know I bleed Black N Gold though. They all try and give me a hard time but all I have to do is point out 6 SB's and they change the conversation pretty quickly.
