Washington looked like he tweaked something on the TD. Keep an eye on it he was walking something off on the sideline.

    That's not a pornstache. It's a hi-diddly-ho-neighborino, Ned Flanders-stache.

Will Howard is the only baby face in the QB room.

I did neglect to mention Payton Wilson, he seems to be really coming into his form.

It is preseason and game 1 is just really about getting out without injuries, seeing 'some wheels turning' in the new faces and not seeing a bunch of stupid penalties on fundamentals. I think we did that.
I don't really like to say 'changes to depth chart' this early on. What I've kind of seen as a trend is NFL teams use game 1 to see how additions and previously injured players are coming along in the development.
I figure some guys that shined week 1 might get some more opportunities in Game 2.

I really hate that Howard is out, and it is possible Thompson forces him to IR. Maybe that's good.
I think Kaleb Johnson is going to get a full dose of blocking this week. I did expect a little better but maybe just an off day for him.
Out of the WR's, Scotty Miller's name comes up a lot. At this point I would say his speed is welcomed but he needs to make the most of his opportunities in Game 2 and 3.
Anderson's injury is just bad timing. Will Omar have to scour the waiver wires to add depth? I think he will. You'd like to keep 9 OL instead of 10 but we can't seem to keep them healthy.

    Upcoming: The Bucs
It's not something you game plan for but you don't want to get embarrassed.
We get a practice against them, so that makes some of the matchups for Saturday interesting, even if it is against backups.
I don't think we need to see Rogers play, he is practicing well.
Just want to get out without any major injuries and play disciplined ball and see if we have some players that continue to contribute.

That would be my entire list. It's literally the only thing I care about in preseason.

We’re going to find out just how much the Steelers think of Howard. My hunch is he will be given the 3rd spot which would show they are pretty high on him given he is missing most of preseason and can’t realistically have won the job.

If they put him on the PS, they aren’t entertaining any ideas of him ever possibly being the future.

cook looked pretty good except for the holding call but thompson didn't do him any favors on that one running right off of cooks block and trying to get the edge. they did bring in andres peat so the waiver wire has been fulfilled. he played some LT that night. of course he was only here for a couple of days before this game. anderson may have injured his way to IR or the PS possibly.

ke shawn williams looked pretty good. he was one i've been talking about along with roc taylor. good to see some young good players in the pipeline of the WR room. that room is full plus at this point. good news.

i think we are in way better shape than many think at WR. young but that's not a bad thing really. Omar has been hitting pretty well with these priority UDFA's the last couple of years.

I think I might be ok with the WR's.... 50/50 right now.
I think those 4 and 3 TE sets is good.
Andrus Peat is 32 though. That's not crazy for an OL. He has spent most of his time as a OG. Maybe/hopefully limited time at OT will be ok. Utility OL are good to have.

I believe it's Williams you are talking about, because He was one of the guys that scored a td and I think that's his number. Hell I get confused with all the numbers every new season. LoL. I see a number, and 10 different guys who used to wear that number come flashing into my mind.

One of the YT sites I watch had chats from people saying they can't put him on PS, no way he does not get picked up, of course that can happen as the NFL is sparce at the position, but kenny looked like the dude in pre...then what? LOL. Maybe they give Howard the 4 week or even full year as injuried, but if we get to the point of either one as starter I would rather Howard get the reps and learn, I think it would be ugly with either one.

For the record, Skylar Thompson's preseason QB ratings:

    2022: 138.4 (3 gms)
    2023: 71.7 (3 gms)
    2024: 76.3 (3 gms)

    Beware the fool's gold...

I guess they will do what they do, the advantage of being number 3 is running the scout team and having that weekly contact up close, perhaps its 'meh'.
