This one is simple. Bring back Fields and let Wilson walk. Keep Tomlin far away from Fields and let Smith develop him. If we get the line right and add some weapons at Wr I think you will see an improved run game and a poor mans Jaylen Hurtz in Fields.

I don’t think the league year has ended yet.

That is what I was thinking. Right now all 3 QBs are off Payroll from 2024, so there is plenty of room to sign Ridder to come in and fill a backup roll.

I think Ridder would be better than Mason Rudolph.

Not sure what the problem is?
If I took something in your original post out of context, my apologies. But we currently have four quarterbacks on the roster.

None of the available evidence supports that claim, and I say that despite my firm belief that Rudolph is no more than a very good backup. Ridder isn't even that.

They would be better off with Kyle Allen as a backup QB over Ridder.

I don’t see good compatibility between Smith and Fields. Smith wants a QB who will play under center, and be able to turn his back to the defense in play action and know where the open receiver should be when he turns back to face the defense. Fields needs to play from the shotgun most of the time so that he can see the defense the whole time and do a lot of RPOs and some read option. Trying to get him to perform in Smith’s offense has a square peg in a round hole feel to me. If we stick with Fields, Smith is the one who needs to change approach. An Eagles style of offense makes sense for Fields, but that’s not Smith’s history.
