With Jones as the starting QB Ben as #2 and Miller as the emergency QB. What happens if Miller gets hurt and cant continue? This is assuming #3 and #7 cant continue.

I'm sure someone else has some QB experience? No different than any other day when only two QB's are dressed?

Than why do you have to announce a emg. QB if anyone can play it?

I think you do. Whether you dress 2 or 3 you still have to announce your emg. QB........I think.

I've never heard of a rule that says you have to announce who your emergency QB is going to be.

Nope. They don't need to declare an emergency QB.

I only heard the announcers speculate as to who it might be...but, I didn't hear all of the game, because I hate listening to Fouts. The team has no rulebook obligation to announce the emergency QB before the game.

I've heard the announcers mention Heath being the emergency QB about once a season.

I think it was just for commentary? Not sure if the Steelers willingly give out that info or it's just common knowledge?

I will defer to your knowledge TTF. However the announcers did say without speculation that Miller was our emg. QB. I just wondered how that worked if your 1 2 and emg went down.

Quite frankly I had a hard time believing Heath was our emg QB.

I am not sure , but I think each Team must dress 3 QB'S or declare who the 3rd. QB/Emergency QB is. If I remember correct and if that rule is still the same once your #3 or your Emergency QB enters the game then neither of the other 2 QB'S could reenter the game.....

Again I am not sure it is that way , but for some reason I remember it being that way....

I've heard it mentioned several times over the last few seasons. Read a story a couple weeks back and they mentioned that Heath was the teams emergency QB if all QB went out in a game. Even said he took a handful of snaps at QB in practice. I'll try and find the story I read and post a link.

I'm pretty sure that if your 3rd QB goes down, the next man up is..... John Kerry?
