They won't, whether it's DHB, JB or Moye, one of them won't make it. Haley has already said that some good WR's wont make the team.

Don't be surprised to see Branchflower make the team, I've seen some reports stating we got a steal with him in that round. Don't know enough about him myself but found that interesting. I tend to think he goes to the PS though and Palmer is the 3rd TE.

McCain and Blake are apparently the reasons they didn't focus on CB's in the draft, Lake said they are pretty high on those guys.

Yeah, I've read some bad stuff about McCain, but as long as he's something like #5 on the depth chart and strong on special teams, I'm all for it. I'll probably have to go back and pull someone else out. Blake is definitely in.

maybe he meant coale, Goodwin and Sampson as the good wr's that won't make it. palmer, I'm torn about but if we are going to use will j. and can keep blanchflower on the PS we will have that backup available.

I thought about that too. Between the two guys it was a toss up. I think Blanchflower may surprise, and if he does then Palmer could be out. However, in that scenario, Blanchflower makes the 53, not the PS. I kept them both so I wouldn't have to decide yet. I need preseason.

Do you know if they've ever kept 7 WRs? And keep in mind, it would be closer to 8 with Dri Archer presumably taking snaps out wide. With all the competition at linebacker and in the secondary, I can't justify this team having 7-8 WRs. 6 was hard enough for me.

    10 Santonio Holmes PR/KR
    81 Sean Morey
    89 Lee Mays
    86 Hines Ward
    85 Nate Washington
    80 Cedrick Wilson
    18 Walter Young

Also Willie Reid, on IR. I don't even remember Walter Young. This seems like a strange year for them to keep so many, since the depth was actually pretty bad. After the top 4, none of those receivers saw much of the field at all. Mays, Morey, Young, and Reid all combined for 3 catches.

Well, I can't say for sure, but off the top of my head, Hines had a hamstring injury that bothered him throughout camp, and Santonio had some legal trouble, so those may have been factors in keeping so many to start the season. I don't think Lee Mays played at all that year. Young rings a bell, but I don't think he saw much time. Cedrick Wilson was a decent contributor IIRC.

I think they like Zumwalt and his intensity and he makes the roster.

Morey was there for STs, mainly, as I recall. It was a shame Willie Reid never worked out - it would have helped not seeing Carey Davis fielding punts a few years later.

No surprise that Washington stood out here, when you look at the competition around him.

Morey was the ST captain, but he saw time at receiver. He had more catches (2) than any of the other bottom 4 (1, 0, 0).

Yeah, that 6 or 7 WR thing just never happens. Apparently they finally gave up on Mays and as Thigpen said Morey was the ST ace. However, they did cut Quincy Morgan who was really very good. Talk about depth. Also there were other similarities to this season. Plaxico Burress left in 2004 [Wallace] and Randle El left in 2005 [Sanders]. Anyway here is how they started the 2006 season. Really only 5WR not counting Morey.
