My observations from the Baltimore belly up

1. Kenny Pickett is knocked out of a game for the 2nd time this season..... Both times were the result of Kevin Dotson's blocking (or lack thereof)

2. O-line and d-lines were bullied throughout the game

3. Presley Harvin's punts are either magical or God awful..... There is no middle ground

4. Mitch Trubiski's picks are inexcusable for a veteran QB

5. No excuse for losing a game in which Mark Edwards is held for 2 rec. 17 yds

6. The Ravens looked like the old school Steelers

7. I'm starting to think we need to trade down in the next draft for extra picks ... Our needs are too great for the few picks we have

8. It's a sad day when I start wondering what Mason Rudolph might have done

9. We are our own worst enemy

10. Despite being bullied, the defense did enough with not enough support

 

#9 sums it up for me.

This team always seams to be its own worst enemy. We are sloppy and just make bad plays far too often. It's not like our guys go out there and play great and just get beat 1 on 1 by a better player. We just make stupid plays far too often. We're just a dumb team.

The way we beat the Bengals in the first meeting is the way we lost to the Ravens

We figured out every way to not win that game. Pitiful.

Wasnt a fan of not trying the onside. Probably wouldnt have worked but not sure what Tomlin saw that would lead him to believe we could prevent a 1st down.

 

Gee I wonder whose fault it is for all three phases of the game to suck?
We look the same as we were even when we were a solid playoff team. No discipline and not buttoned up. Major collapses in games we had no right losing. Tomlin era should be over like today after that ****show

You are correct in all but #10…. Cant give up over 200 yds rushing and say your defense did enough. this isnt college football.

Trubisky's job was to take care of the ball. He failed to do that. Please send him packing, along with the Canada and Sullivan sideshow. We don't throw those picks we probably win the game - not that a win makes our season but still these games are showing us where our real problems lie.

Along with failing to adequately replace AV at LT and bolster the line overall - that was a major screw up.

There isn't a part of this team close to being a complete unit. The def can't stop run and don't come up with the play when needed the most. The ST have not 1 thing special about them. The off needs help on the oline and I believe kenny can be the man but he still has to prove it ( he hasn't done it yet) this next draft can be the beginning of fixing this team but it's going to take more than 1 or 2 drafts with very little to no misses

 

This has been a trend for a while. We just had a magic eraser at QB for a long time who could turn $**t into shinola.

 

Bad football team all around. But have 2 opinions.

1. Our coaches are really awful and aren’t NFL material.

2. Our players are awful and aren’t NFL material.


I’m afraid it’s a mixture of both and 1. Isn’t gonna change anytime soon.


There is NO way an NFL should be this sloppy. Never should happen.

 

Number 7...i was thinking this during the preseason. When you're shopping in the bargain bin to fill out both lines and secondary...you've got more questions than solutions.

Agree with no. 2 wholeheartedly. There were more neuterings along our respective lines than you see at the average animal shelter in a week. Our DL and OL left their testicles on the field today.

 

There's a serious lack of talent and coaching ability. Deadly combination. I won't yet worry about Pickett's injuries, nor will I forget his recent improvements, but this OL and OC are not good for a QBs health. The CBs & ILBs being terrible are real problems, too. As for your #2, I pray Weidl fixes the line of scrimmage because it's been badly neglected in recent years and most of the problems start there.

 

good observations. DLINE sucks, soft, weak - have been for 203 seasons. Just an embarrassment, get outphysicaled whenever a team can do it.
