Too early to give grades, but here are my impressions:

    1. Bud Dupree DE/OLB Kentucky: Love the pick. I see a situational pass rushing role for him in 2015 (like Aldon Smith as a rookie), and a starting OLB and double digit sack guy in 2016. Future pro-bowler IMO.
    2. Senquez Golson CB Miss.: I wanted him as a slot corner, but was a bit surprised that we took him in the 2nd. He is dynamic and gets the ball. Now that we got Grant in the 2nd, I am 100% good with Golson in the 2nd.
    3. Sammy Coates WR Auburn: After watching his games on draftbreakdown.com, I'm liking this pick more and more. He is not a natural hands catcher, and that has to be worked on. However, he is a significant vertical threat, makes big plays at big times, and will block all day if you ask him to. On one of his tapes, there's a play where he takes a bubble screen or quick slant (can't remember which) and was just gone after 1 cut. It looked like he had Mike Wallace speed on that play - catch, cut, poof-gone.
    4. Doran Grant CB Ohio St.: I was pimping him hard all off-season, and wanted him in the 3rd. He is a Steeler corner. I think he will be a better player in our zone-heavy scheme than he would be in a pure press man scheme. I think that lack of scheme flexibility cost him a bit in draft position - to our benefit.
    5. Jesse James TE Penn St.: I like the pick. He is a very raw 20 year old with a lot of untapped potential. I think he's a better prospect coming out than Matt Spaeth was, but he's going to need more development time. He shows promise as a receiver. He has good hands, and shows the ability to make catches in traffic. I do think that his route running looks a bit mechanical. It looks pretty clear where he's headed at all times, and he'll need to disguise things better at the next level. I think the hope is that he'll be the 3rd TE on the roster opening day, because he'll be a prime poaching candidate on the PS.
6a. Letarrius Walton: No clue about him other than what I've read. However, if he allows us to cut Cam T, then
6b. Anthony chickillo DE/OLB Miami: I like the pick, but I'm not sure exactly what he's going to do for us. He works hard and should at least be a special teams standout and multi position backup/sub-package player.
    7. Gerod Holliman FS Louisville: Good value here. He either learns how to want to tackle, or he's gone with minimal risk.

With the way Moats played, Dupree is going to have to earn the job, IMO. I don't think they should just hand it to him.

The Browns always seem to get a high draft grade. Then completely f**k it up on the field.

I think the Ravens draft is pretty much on a par with us... some good moves, some reaches.

The Bengals probably had the best out of the conference on paper... but we'll see.

    Dupree: A-

Who would have thought we'd have the choice among Dupree, Ray, and Gregory? Ray and Gregory were maybes for me when I assumed Bud wasn't available. With Bud on the board, we almost didn't have a choice. Great potential, but at the same time, I can see him coming along slowly and underwhelming. Going in I was hoping for who I considered a safer pick, Kevin Johnson.

    Golson: B

The anti-Steelers cornerback: no height, no length, and not only can he catch a football, he actually tries to! That's enough to separate him from just about everyone from recent memory, and that's a good thing. I believe that his skill will offset his lack of height more than many people think is possible, as long as we don't ask him to cover anyone super tall. And most teams don't send out a whole team of tall receivers... There will be a place for Senquez, and I think he'll have success as a rookie and in the long run. It's worth noting he's not the anti-Steelers cornerback when it comes to aggression and tackling. I ding the grade down from an A because I expected him to be there later. But what do I know?

    Coates: B-

I don't hate the player. He's got drop issues, but he's got potential to offer us a lot. Still, hard to love a pick when he'll be behind 3 other players for all of the foreseeable future, and I had my eye on a couple other guys.

    Grant: A

Senquez Golson minus 5 INTs plus 2 inches. A lovely combination for those worried about Golson's size, Grant is versatile, should help with turnovers, won't hurt us in the tackling department, and could be a great special teamer.

    James: B-

I'm not wowed, but I do believe we can get more out of him than Penn State did. We are still looking for red zone help, and if he has better ball skills than Matt Spaeth, he'll be a legit threat down there. I could see him being a long, steady #2 type like Spaeth - and on our team #2 TE is like being the #3 WR. It's practically a starter. I did have my eyes on some other guys, like Ohio State's Michael Bennett.

    Walton: C

I see the potential, but I also see a guy who could get everyone all excited, do one year on the PS, and then disappear forever like 6th round pick Ra'Shon Harris.

    Chickillo: C+

Seems like my type of player, and I like that we drafted a guy seemingly specifically to play nickel. We play that a lot.

    Holliman: A-

Can't hate drafting a guy with 14 INTs in the 7th round when you're a team that doesn't know how to get interceptions. I don't understand anyone disliking this pick. Yes, he can't tackle. So??? What tackling FS would you have preferred, and do you think he will be as good at getting picks as Holliman?

Overall I don't see any bad picks. The worst are average. I give the draft on the whole a B+.

That funny you mentioned that, Snack. The first thing I thought of was this seems like a Sunny Harris -type pick.
