Hey guys I am going to go to my first game this year. We are coming to the skins game. I am looking at tickets in section 538 and wanted to know if they are good seats or not? They are in my price range. Also can I see the jumbotron from that section? Thanks for the help.

The 2 times I was there, we sit in 516. You wont have any problems seeing the game from 538 but I m not sure bout the jumbotron. I would think you will be ok. One of the best things about the upper 500s is they are undercover, so if its raining or snowing, you wont get as wet.

You can see the jumbotron from every seat in the stadium. You'll have a great view of it from your seat.

I think 538 is fine. I love sitting up higher for NFL games. You get to see the field better. And section 538 is on the Steelers side between the goal line and the 10-yard line.

I've sat low and high at Heinz and they are both great views. I personally like to be down lower just because it gives me a sense that I'm like "closer" to the team or something. I don't know how to explain it I just like to be as close as I can be. I'm only 5'4 but I've never had a problem with people in front of me being too tall. The guys that are telling you there's not a bad seat in the house are pretty much dead on. I do think it might suck a little to sit up in the bleachers in the end zone. I've always thought that I wouldn't like to sit in the end zone just because I like to be able to see the guys from the side going at eachother. But I'm sure there are people on this board that would even tell you they like sitting in the end zone. I think it's just a thing of personal preference. My dad actually likes to sit up high so it's just different for everybody.

Thanks guys I am really looking forward to it. I would have loved to sit closer and could have but just could not put that kind of money into for me and the wife. She is a skins fan so that is why we picked this game. Is it a problem if she wears a skins shirt? Will people be rude to her and throw things? I would hate to get in a fight with someone.

I've been 4 rows from the field, and halfway up the upper decks. There's no bad seat. And both have their attractive points.

My eyesight is not 20/20 and I could read the names on the backs of the jerseys at my furthest up seat. I wasn't at the far back, so I can't speak for that far up, but I imagine the view is just fine. It seemed louder to me close to the field (crowd noise). Whether this was due to the sound amplifying at ground level, or just that the crowd was crazier that day, I don't know.

You'll have a great vantage point, and shouldn't miss a thing. Just keep in mind that up there, and in the open end, it may feel colder. Dress appropriately.

I have been there recently, and even when we played the Clowns, there was nothing besides good natured ribbing, towards the people wearing Browns shirts/jerseys...
Now, if that was the Ravens? I dunno... that might be a bit different,
But since the `Skins are not a hated rival, as long a she is willing to hear some "BOO`s", from everyone she sees walking into the stadium, and doesn`t provoke people with smart-aleck remarks... She should be fine to wear her jersey.
She IS gonna hear a bit of "smack talk", from the fans, on the way in, but mostly said, with a smile on their face. Nothing hostile, that I have seen, and once you get to your seats, the people will treat you fine, leave her alone(esp. since she is gonna be sitting with you, in your "Steeler`s colors"), as long as she isn`t rude/ obnoxious to them...
EVERY team has their drunk/obnoxious fans... But Heinz Field has one of the better behaved(towards "enemy" teams) crowds, that I have seen, compared to others.
In short, I wouldn`t worry about it. Let her wear her shirt. You probably won`t find a fight, unless you are looking for it... Even if they somehow manage to beat us, with their rookie gem...we don`t tend to take it out on the other teams fans..
As long as they don`t get too loud after the fact... Gotta remember... she IS in our house! ;-) :yeehaw:

I agree. She should be fine. Most STEELER fans at Heinz Field don't tolerate opposing fans getting abused. I've seen fellow Steeler fans grab security on behalf of an opposing fan when some idiot who's bent his elbow a tad too much gets out of hand. Oh, she may get some trash talk. But if she's a football fan, she should expect that.

One anecdote on a slightly humorous note though: Don't let her wear a hooded jacket. Or if she does, tell her to keep the hood up. ;)

A guy at work is an Eagles fan. He and his wife went out to Heinz Field to see the Eagles get crushed in Ben's rookie season. :D Anyway, he said everyone around them was very friendly. Oh, they heard some "how bout them Eagles?" a few times when Pittsburgh scored. But they knew it was all friendly jest. He said the one fan sitting next to them even bought them some beers. Toward the end of the game, his wife was getting cold, so she pulled her hood up... and got about 16 ounces of beer dumped on her head. Someone had surreptitiously, and generously filled it with Iron City. Not cool. FUNNY, but not cool. Well, he thought it was hilarious after the fact. ;) She wasn't too amused.
