Matt Elam at #17 is a very big reach, IMO.

he may be but no way he is there at 2nd pick. if we could trade back and get him fine. i dont think he is a big reach cause in my opinion he is the best saftey in the draft. i guess in a way your right but when we have a need like saftey(and people may disagree with me that it is a need) i think we should get a top saftey. the class is deep i will admit but really we need 2. we have no backups worthy of starting and i am sick of seeing troy or ryan being hurt or playing in denver and watching players like mundy suck it up. we could go best player available and take a olineman cause i think that will be there but i guess i just want a playmaker on defense. i really dont know if i am trying to convice you or me.lol

I think there's 5 or 6 safeties in the mix, no clear cut best. It depends on what skillset you're looking for. We only need 1 safety out of this draft, IMO. I feel the best value at safety comes on the 2nd day.

I'd agree that there's several talented safeties, but I think Vacarro is definitely the clear cut best.

i'm with you. i've liked elam from the start. teams have these guys ranked a whole lot different then most draft sites every year. if they make us better it's not a bad pick. if troy goes down or clark goes down, he's a great 1st rd. pick. compared to ziggy and heyward , i think he will earn and be well worth a first rd. grade. i'd like a draft like that. washington is going to be a good pro in the right situation. like here. cummings can be that second safety. i might change up some of rd.6-7 a little but overall a nice draft.

I was liking Vaccaro as the top safety for a while, but the more games that I have watched, the more I feel that he's basically right there with Elam and Reid. Not sure about Cyprian yet because I haven't watched any of his games other than the Sr. Bowl yet. Below those 3 or 4 players, I currently see a drop off (lots more film to watch before the draft though). I don't think any of the safeties are worth pick #17.
