I left Pittsburg when I was 3. Now I'm retired and it's time to make a dent in my Bucket list. We will be celebrating our 25th anniversary in September. I want to see my team at Heinz field and grab a bite to eat on the strip. We could use your advise on the best way to get tickets and where to stay. If you have advice or ideas on what see and do it would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Ticket exchange is probably the easiest and safest. We like the hotels over at the airport. Prices are reasonable, plenty places to eat, but it is about 10-15 miles to town.

It depends on your budget. Theres the Hyatt Place a very short walk from the Stadium, but you will pay $150/night. However you won't have to worry parking or getting around and can walk to the game. And the casino if that's your thing. Plenty of restaurants around the stadium now from swanky Hyde Park Steakhouse, to Bettis sports bar, to the Tilted Kilt and girls with boobs and asscheeks hanging out. Also Penn Avenue has a lot of different places to eat. It's right in the Cultural District where you can catch a play or musical if that floats your boat. Penn Av and Cultural District are a decent little walk or short Uber away from Hyatt.

Also the standard typical...Mt Washington, Inclines, Station Square stuff. Pittsburgh has a great zoo and National Aviary too. You can even do a night on one of the Gateway Clipper boats, or take one of those cheesy ducky tours too.

If your active and like to walk, you can access the river walk too from Hyatt.

Tickets thru tix exchange or Stub Hub.

    Thats all I got.

If it's your 25th anniversary I would spend the time down town rather than out by the airport as shadowmaker suggested. The weather should be decent and you could take the incline up to Mt. Washington for a really nice dinner. Much more to do around downtown than out by the airport.

    If you can handle it
The week of the game the steelers release lower level tickets
They are tickets that the family members don't use
    That's what I do
My last trip was two years ago but we were in section 141 or something and sat next to lagarrette blounts gf and kids and Chris johnsons family
Kinda cool and much cheaper if you can handle waiting that long for tickets

Book it now it might be cheaper
But we stay at Wyndham downtown and walk the bridge over to the stadium

As an out of towner I was amazed at the store hometown sports they have any and everything steeler that u may want
They also have steelers sign autographs sometimes on Saturday.

    I love eating at Peppis
You have to get u a Rothlisberger
(If your heart can handle it)

Grille 36 and primanti brothers are a must too

I agree. There really is A LOT to do downtown. Definitely can take up a weekend. Not that you can remember but the city has changed a lot in the last 25 years.

Personally I wouldn't bother with the strip to eat dinner but would check it out on Sat/Sun morning for breakfast or lunch.

I blame it on my brother in law. CMU grad. Used to bust your balls for improper English. Sound kind of Pricky but I am better for it. Learned more for him busting my ass that I did in school

Stub Hub has always been a really reliable place for tickets for me. They are also really reasonable on there. They had extremely cheap playoff tix even.

I usually buy the 500 level section tix when they go on sale in June. You need to go for the less desirables game, but at least they are face value before Ticketmaster fees.

STAY AT STATION SQUARE AND TAKE THE FERRY OVER TO THE GAME! The ferry is an awesome experience for a first-timer going to a game. The Incline is awesome too, which is also at Station Square.

The Strip during the morning for cheap Steeler gear and maybe lunch or snack, there is one place that is good for breakfast there too. Went to Church Brew Works for first time recently and really like that place. Good food and good beer.

I don't really like Bettis Grille. Food is just okay unless you are a steak only kinda guy. It has Bettis photos, etc., but that is about it.

Tempting offer...lol. I have as much blood, sweat and tears in this car as the Steelers have during the entire season.

Wow, I'm embarrassed by that mistake. I can't blame it on a Senior moment either. I think my fingers were ahead of my brain. Enjoy the weekend.

Since you are celebrating, I'd do it right. Club level seats can be procured on StubHub. The Fairmont is an excellent place to stay. An awesome leisurely stroll to the stadium and along the river. It'll get you jacked for the game.

Just joking with you, it's worth a lot more than than 4 tickets of course, in 1966 I bought a new chevelle 396 4 speed, with cheater slicks and headers it was fast when I raced it in the quarter mile, if I had known they would become a collector car, I would have kept it of course, I wish you the best of luck this year at the game.

Man you have to do it
Cincinnati is about 2 hrs closer so I use to just go there
Then one year they had a don't sell your tickets to steeler fan rally in the city
And my wife and I were the only ones n the stadium with steeler stuff on
As you can imagine we had to fight our way out of there and I said never again
Now I got the extra 2 hours and hang out with 65000 of my best friends that I never knew I had
On Saturdays everyone wears steeler stuff
Women kids everyone it's some thing to see and be a part of
It's now my favorite trip of the year

I've been to Steelers games in other cities before. Indy wasn't bad at all, no problems. St. Louis has never been a problem. Had some problems when the Steelers played against Kansas City. Their fans are a little unruly. I don't think I'd have any interest in going to Cincinnati or Baltimore to watch the Steelers play.

    I've got a restored '67 442 in my garage.
My wife and I made the bucket list to Heinz a few years ago. I was amazed that EVERYONE was wearing black and gold on the day before the game. You don't see that here in SO. California!
