Not quite what I said. I liked that he was respectful, yes, but I wouldn't dislike him if I hadn't seen that in him early on. If he wasn't soft spoken, it wouldn't bother me either. I have a lot of respect for many players who are not at all soft spoken. What bothers me is that AB is being a selfish, arrogant, attention hog. I can't picture Lambert live streaming from a private locker room if that had been a thing back then. Lambert had a little more respect for the team, and was less about himself than that.

Steeler fans have always been tough on their players. When I read these threads Im always reminded why Bradshaw had so much animosity towards the fans base.

The only problem AB is causing is if Ben is forcing him the ball and if so, thats Bens fault. I mean really, why would Ben care about stoking AB's ego at this point (and Im not saying hes not, certainly looks like he force feeds him at times) but Bens playing days are almost done. Tell AB to stfu and throw the ball to who you want.

All people grow into different roles. He came out of college and alternated weekly activation with Emmanuel Sanders. When Ben started he probably wore his helmet during training camp and practiced all week with the team. Brown has built a brand for himself, he is the face of the organization commercially. Like him or not, he has managed his career in a way to achieve success. He’s closing in on 30 and his years are limited. These guys do ask for more money and push to build themselves financially. No one can deny that the man has worked hard for success and did from an obscure college as a sixth round pick to becoming the best receiver in the game. No one threw more fits on the sideline that Jerry Rice, NO ONE. As for Lambert, he was upset his career was over and completely ignores the organization that still honors him and the fans who supported him, unfortunately so does Troy.

You’re 100% correct that steeler fans are tough. The only comparison is NY. We often forget that Brown has been the key to success over the last several years. Ben has been hurt every year, Bryant suspended, Bell hurt/suspended, Coats hands of stone. Brown has led this team to respectable seasons every year. Is he a blow-hard yes, a show-boat yes. He’s also a dedicated player who plays hard nosed football between the lines and that is undeniable. He’s the face of this franchise right now, like it or not. I’m personally a Shazier fan and I think he is the best middle backer in the league, but he’s not going to be on the opening of SNF. Anyone remember Frenchie?? Lol the goldfish in the shoes? Let’s face it, WR’s showboats, it’s in their DNA. And that’s fine as long as they back it up with great play.

Noll never got his guys under control. Joe Greene, Jack Lambert, Mike Webster did that. Unfortunately, players of that caliber are not on our team.

It's well documented he is the hardest working player on the team. I'm having a hard time thinking that is a cancer in the locker room. He is generally pointed to as a good example for the young guys.

Put me back in my 20s, give me millions of dollars, plaster my face all over tv and tell me I'm great.

I'm having a hard time thinking I would have handled that well.

Although, I'd be willing to give it a try now.

No doubt he's a hard worker. But you never see him with teammates in the offseason working out. It's always guys from other teams. Bryant having issues with weed, why doesn't AB take him under his wing? I've already gave countless examples of why he's a bad influence in this thread so I'm not going to type them all out again.
