Title says it all. If KC really wants to go BPA in the draft please expedite these negotiations and give the fans something definitive before we find out that neither Edmunds nor Mathieu will be back there.

    Can Killebrew be a starter?

I'm just curious what the deal is there, because I thought he would play more since we signed him.

    I believe he’s just a backup.

LOL. I kept thinking what does Kansas City have to do with this? I am pretty sure that Tyrann Mathieu can't go back to KC as they have already filled his spot.

My guess is they really want to move on from Edmunds, but right now the price is not right.

Colbert told the media today that the only spot they feel they don't have a starter is strong safety, that tells you what they think of Killebrew.

Edmonds 5th year option would have been 6.7 million. Not the scientific method of looking at it, but it's a starting point. They did not want his production at that rate, perhaps do not want him at all, but half that or less may be reasonable.

    :hmm:

So... Jaquan Brisker in Round 2 then? Lewis Cine even? One of the two.

I’d be very happy with either of them in round 2

    As would I.

Cine is a freak level hell raiser in run support and Brisker currently is Minkah Fitzpatrick Lite but as Strong Safety. Either or works for me. :drinks:

I wonder if any of this has to do with his brother getting $12MM from Buffalo and him being too embarrassed to take a lot less?

The embarrassment should be in not getting the 5th year option picked up. The amount is controlled by the pick you were taken, neither of them controlled that.

The problem is, both will most likely be 2nd round picks. Neither are likely to be there by the time the Steelers pick in the 2nd.

The more and more I think about it, I think Dax Hill is likely to be the Steelers 1st round pick.

Dax Hill could be in play... provided if the Panthers believe the Steelers will leapfrog them via a trade with the Giants to get Malik Willis. That would force Carolina to likely shell up to go to the number two spot. That said, if I were Houston, I would also entertain offers as well. New York Jets is the only team I do not see trading down in this case here.

Heck, even if Willis is taken, Pittsburgh has been to every major QB Prospect's Pro Day sans Sam Howell as Tomlin is not scheduled to be there. Kevin Colbert will though and, as I have stated many times, if both the likes of Tomlin and Colbert are at a major prospects Pro Day in addition to the coordinator and position coach, the interest is very high. I do believe that the Steelers Brass will have both Colbert and Canada at North Carolina tomorrow but I am unsure if Mike Sullivan will be.

Outside of Willis, the next best option, to me, is Matt Corral. Very much like Trubisky but his Arm Strength is much better than Mitch's coming out. In addition, should Matt Canada be running a bevy of Spread/RPO concepts as he was attempting to, Corral's development can be organically accelerated as he is tailor made for the system. However, he still would have to sit as his overall processing abilities are still very much in development at this point in time. Too many one reads in his game as it is.

If anything, if Malik Willis is long gone by the time Pittsburgh elects to trade up with him, Corral would be my next best option.

Agree. It does seem like the Steelers are hell bent on selecting a QB in round 1. If the Steelers decide to stay at 20, I think Desmond Ridder is in play with that pick. Im not sure if he got to eat wings with Tomlin, but he did get dinner.

I honestly believe that Willis, Pickett and Corral will be gone before the Steelers pick at 20. The Lions may very well take Willis at #2, and I am not sure that the Steelers would entertain trading up for anyone other than Willis.

So to me, that puts guys like Devin Lloyd and Dax Hill in contention. Tomlin and Colbert were at Michigan's Pro Day, and they did have a formal meeting with Lloyd at the combine. I think guys like Kenyon Green, Jordan Davis, and Devontae Wyatt are also in play if the Steelers can't, or choose not to, land a QB

I was thinking about this after posting in the draft subforum yesterday. They could move Minkah to strong safety, For example, let's say Kyle Hamilton is not available at 20 and they really wanted him. They could draft Cross, or Daxton Hill for free safety and move Minkah to strong side. No?

    Relax Blitz

I have not seen them go to the draft with a glaring hole in the last 50 years. They have something in mind. I suspect they are just waiting for someone or the market to come to a fair number.

My thing about the Qbs is.....Why are We worried about drafting a Qb for a certain system??? A real Qb should be able 2 play most systems.
So if Canada happens 2 suck, and We fire Him
...We just throw away the Qb???
That's the problem with these gimmicky Qbs.
Just what We need .....Ravens light.....that should really improve our chances at a SB.....because it's helping them so much.
You know what style of Qb is not a flash in the pan, and has been working well for the Whole history of the NFL???
A Qb that can actually sit in the pocket....read a D, Make correct decisions, throw accurately, and on time. Seems 2 work forever, but Hey... let's change that 2 the guys that are not winning SBs.

Trubisky is better than any of these kids in the draft. I see no point in drafting one. Pickett, if he fail, maybe. But the rest I wouldn't touch because they're needing to be worked on. And we're not in a position to work on them.

Agreed. I can see some of these projects going in the 2nd round. Sorry not on board with Pickett. Or Willis. And to trade up for him? Hell to the NO.

Roll with Trubisky and upgrade the needs. Grab the franchise next season.

Whatever they do I will support the decision although I may not like it at the time.

Strong Safety is a need as well as receivers. A better running back to back up Harris. And they can do better then a Taco and Tuszka at OLBer.

And the elephant in the room Tuitt the mystery man.
