    Glad I'm not the only one. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt that he forgot green text. But either way, saying someone isn't 100% convinced of Tomlin as a coach because of his race is complete and utter bull$hit!

    Looks pretty clear that he IS expressing that view, and I think it's pretty offensive - even if it was already said by an idiot Steeler beat writer.

    Wow? Really? I think people are taking this personally if they happen to be someone who has criticized Tomlin. This message board is too small a sample size but move outside this board and into society as a whole and the odds go up increasingly that people feel that way.

    I'd be happy to have this discussion via PM with anyone who would care to but to infer that there isn't a fair share of people that don't like Tomlin based on skin color is kind of naive. Society hasn't proved to me that they have advanced that much in regards to prejudice, and I'm white and feel that way.

    To be clear, I'm not accusing ANYONE here of this, just surprised to see that its thought of as unlikely in general.

    Don't be naïve, Ron Cook was right, it's true if you read some of the idiot fans on Facebook regarding the Steelers. I'm not putting all the fans in that category that constantly bash Tomlin.

    c'mon guys , i don't understand a brawling on these board .. everybody knows each other thinking and opinions but not for that it's should start a war everytime . i mean we are still under the a big steelers family and we are hosted by a guy who works for that .. and this is the answers ..? respect opinions and laugh at best of some others .. i thought everybodies were virtually friends on year .. .. sorry just a though before going to sleep maybe i went to far ...:shrug:

    Its all good Freak, I don't share your dislike of Tomlin or agree with some of your critiques of the team but you're one of my favorite board members :good:

    People can disagree and still like each other, the important thing to remember is to keep it civil. Which is why we try not to discuss race, politics and religion around here, more often than not, it doesn't remain civil.

    I think this thread has outlived its usefulness. We started by talking about MT's views on our comers, took a weird but amusing turn into Star Wars vs. Star Trek vs. sports fandom, and then degenerated into discussing racism because someone decided that the subject wasn't complete without accusing "some" fans of being racist. Enough.
