Fair enough. Maybe it is affiliation and that runs deeper than pure entertainment.

But the point remains, you have zilch control over what happens with the Steelers and therefore are in no position to demand anything.

Maybe you ought to rethink your how deep your emotional ties are to something that, in the end, you are merely a spectator.

You simply cannot demand things from people where you have no control. It will only lead to frustration and agony.

I have control over my kids, they're all minors. From them I have every right to demand respect of me, respect of others, loyalty, educational excellence, a good work ethic, responsibility, and to be good citizens among other things. If they fail I have every right to be angry and disappointed. I also have the means to correct the problem.

I also would expect (not demand) a lot of those things from your children as well. If they fail I may be disappointed but I would quickly get over their shortcomings as their behavior is out of my control.

If you're talking about Spielberg making Star Wars movies I actually DID catch it and forgot to mention it so you have only yourself to blame for the lifetime of ridicule that awaits you for making that mind numbingly, asinine, stupendously stupid, and incredibly moronic statement!!! LOL!!!

    This...:this!:

I was so pissed at Ben with his off field issues that I wanted him gone at the time...I expected the Rooneys to do something about it (I still believe they had a role in the suspension) But I got over that because he plays for my team.

As Bobby says...If Star Wars (never seen any of the movies) had a new movie every year for 75+ years...and counting...people would be following that as much as we follow our Steelers and be just as engaged...but we have zero control on what the Steelers do, just as the Star Wars people don't on controlling the storyline in the movies.

I spent a couple thousand to take my son to Pittsburgh when they played the Chargers a couple years ago...it might have been the game they were supposed to unleash hell...they came out so flat an uninspired...it was disappointing. I was mad that I spent money on them...but I would never take that experience/memory away. Same thing against the Jets this past year...took my sons to that game...Steelers played like crap but I would do it again and again.

I went to see Harrison, Kesiel, Troy, AB, Ben, Bell...just so someday when my sons are older they can say they saw some HOF'er play. To me that is what a fan is. I don't post much but I'm on this site everyday for hours reading everyone's posts. I love to read a good debate about why did a coach called this play and not that play, or we should have gotten so and so more reps, etc. But its hard to read when people trash/slam every decision the team makes regarding personnel.

If we didn't have a pro bowl caliber center, guard, wr, TE, QB, & RB...they could probably sign a shut down corner...but who do you drop to get that CB? Every person who posts can tell anyone what the areas of weaknesses are with the team, but what risk/reward is it to drop a Pro Bowler to get this other guy...and how many people will say how stupid the team is for dropping a Pro Bowler.

You've never seen Star Wars? Just out of curiosity, are you a younger kid? I thought everybody had seen Star Wars. At least one of them.

I'm 44...Star Wars and Star Trek never appealed to me. I also lived in rural Montana where the closest theater was miles away when the films were popular.

Man that's just wrong. LOL. It's still awesome all these years later. Well except for the revised version where Spielberg digitally replaced the cops' guns with flashlights and crap. It's so comforting to know that if there IS an alien invasion that police are equipped with flashlights. LOL.

I agree about Star Trek. It's horrible and only for huge nerds. Star Wars is awesome though and you owe it to yourself to watch it. LOL. If for nothing else but you'd better be able to understand all the references about Bill Belichik being a Sith Lord and stuff like that. LOL.

This is the same type of thing LeBeau was saying after the 2014 draft, because the media was questioning them about waiting until the 5th rd to draft a CB.

We all know why some Steeler fans do nothing but bash Tomlin, he gets the blame for the losses but no credit for the wins. Like that guy Ron Cook wrote in the Post Gazette last year, a lot of it is based on race they continue to praise Cowher and make excuses for his only winning 1 Super Bowl.

Steelers' Mike Tomlin has high expectations for the offense

    by Dave Peters | CBSSports.com
    Sat, 28 Mar 2015 10:09 PM ET

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin has high expectations for the team's offense going into the 2015 season, reports triblive.com.
“My expectation is they're capable of being the very best because we've got the goods,” Tomlin said Tuesday at the NFL's annual owners meetings. “We've got guys that are capable. We've got guys that know what they're doing. We've got guys that played together for an extended period of time now. So that's a reasonable expectation.”Tomlin brought up the Patriots and how their offense can do whatever it needs to given their opponent that week. He wants an offense for all occasions. The Steelers set a franchise-record last season with 27.2 points per game. The team had a stretch of three games where they averaged 41.3 points per contest.

now he has faith in the offense. imagine that a head coach that has faith in his team. alright all you racists, get with the program.:smiley1::cool:

Wow... unless "some fans" means a very small minority, this statement is completely off the mark - and that's putting it kindly after rewording what I wanted to say about this post about 10 times (the responsibility of being a mod is challenging at times).

I think he's quoting something written by Ron Cook?
Unless I read the post wrong I don't think that is the way Steelersrule6 feels?

To be fair, Six was referring to an article by Ron Cook, so he's far from the only one who thinks so.
