how good can this guy be? he looks pretty friggin awesome already in year two. we have brought speed to the LB room on the outside and inside. much of what we have been lacking. i'm feeling pretty good about the OLB and ILB rooms at this point. bout time.

Lets hope the coaches dont coach the speed out of them by not letting them be athletic. Those of us who know what this means have probably not only see it but may have experienced it at some level.

How good can Nick Herbig?! Ceiling is a star level Hybrid LB. Floor is a low level starting based hybrid LB.

Overall, Nick was one of my favorite players coming out of the draft in 2023 largely due in part to his overall versatility and playmaking potential. Some of that potential manifested later on during his Rookie Season. This Preseason, we are already seeing more and more of it.

That said, have him continue to develop as an EDGE first before moving around a bit more. Let Nick refine his overall game so that he can be better equipped to handle other duties.

Last 2 seasons Steelers went 19-15 making Playoffs once. They did that without any QB who could be a true starter in the NFL. TJ and the Defense made us at least respectable. IMO this defensive unit is better. They could be pretty badass. Hope we can limit the injury bug. Offense has to be better. Russell Wilson is hands down the best QB we have had since Ben left. Experience will matter.

Sorry, but I have to disagree. At this point in their careers I think Rudolph is better than Wilson. I'm not even sure if Wilson will be an upgrade over Pickett, at least in regards to winning more games. Personally, I'd rather see Fields as their #1

Only time will tell and we will probably never see Mason or Kenny as a teams #1. I'd like to see Mason get a chance. Pickett has 13 career TD's. A healthy 17 game Wilson should top that. The key word there is health.

With that O-Line, I can't see Wilson making it through the entire season

We should trade TJ while he still has elite value and get some draft picks. We are going to need them. Plus I want to see TJ get a playoff win before he retires the guy deserves it.

Maybe we should wait and see how Wilson does in the regular season first.

Sadly that is my feeling too. And I am not a Fields supporter. Which is why my win total will be low.

No guarantee on any draft picks. We know TJ is a stud. Hate to trade him for a #1's like say Pickett, Trubinsky, etc.

We REALLY need to get him on the field more than 10-15 snaps a game.

I said this last season ... He is gonna be a problem. He's a luxury starter. Good thing highsmith has already sign an extention or his job would've been in jeapody. But, if our DC get imaginative, and have all 3 blitzing on those 3rd and forever... then maybe we can get off the field

You and me both. I was begging for him in the draft. Looked like TJ Jr. Love what we're seeing.

I'm interested in how Raiola's kid does for Nebraska. Not a little brother, but his his dad was a really good center for the Lions. Lots of "football families" out there. Its something Tomlin likes to look for in the draft.

In passing downs are you taking Highsmith off the field, so you can get Herbig on the field?

The way Herbig has looked this preseason I can see him finishing ahead of Highsmith in sacks this year.

Steeler coaching staff really needs to get him on the field somehow.

He looks great. I could not help thinking after he left game Hooker was running around at will which would not be the case if the first team was in there. He would have gotten smoked
