I really think Ben would prefer Moye just because he's supposedly always wanted that "big" target. I really just don't see Moye getting THAT much playing time this year though. Wouldn't you be surprised to see Moye and Wheaton both active again?

Unfortunately, Yes. It would probably mean an injury to Brown, Sanders, or Cotch....
But I still would like to see them maybe rotate Wheaton and Moye, as th other active wr, every other week, or every 2 weeks, just get a chance to see what they could do.
I know that`s not realistic, tho...
    GO STEELERS

If they are gonna be "the future" I would like to see them on the field at the same time to learn each other's tendencies and things like that. I still don't feel like we have a legitimate and consistent deep threat though. Although if we're gonna have a crappy o line we might need more possession type guys anyway.

I think Brown, and Manny, can be consistent "deep threats"... Wheaton, MAY be in that mix, too, but we will never know, because we got rid of Arians(thank all that is holy), and we won`t see a 3 receiver "go route", where they just line up 2 on one side of the field, and the other one on the opposite side of the field, and let the d- backs pick who to cover...
All out sprint routes are not in Haley`s plan, very often, and I`m glad for that. Aren`t you?
    LOL, Couldn`t resist....
Point being, I think at least the proven 2, and maybe Wheaton have plenty of speed to get downfield, and open up the underneath routes for the oter rcvrs/ te`s/ rb`s... and maybe just once in a while, when they are single covered, and open, plenty fast enuff to hit the "home run ball"..
    Get what I`m sayin?
    GO STEELERS!

p.s. I also agree Moye looks like the "big receiver" Ben wants... Just watchin him hang onto that ball when he got flipped onto his head, for a completion, showed me his "potential"...
I wanna see more. One play does not a career, make.
    GO STEELERS

Man I wish Moye had the speed to run those deep sideline routes because can you imagine how awesome it would be for Ben to just sling him a few jump balls every game??? Oh that would be awesome.

They are both going to be good, WR is one of our least worries. Even if Sanders leaves we have capable players Moye and
    Wheaton ready to step in.

Are we really debating about guys with 5 combined NFL catches?

Well, if we are, it's Wheaton no doubt. Like others have said, they'll both be involved. But there's a reason Wheaton was a 3rd round pick, and Moye went undrafted.

Wheaton has solid hands, track speed, and is good in space, and even though he is small he has some thickness to his frame that will allow him to hold up against NFL defenses.

Moye is tall, and has some pretty good ball skills when it's in the air. If you read the scouring reports they say he'll drop the easy catches, and make the hard ones. I'd say we saw both on Sunday. Moye is slow, lacks lateral quickness, and struggles to get open.

When you look at both guys' weaknesses I really think Wheaton's are more coachable. Moye just lacks physical assets that he's not going to develop (like I said, there's a reason he went undrafted). I'm not hating Moye, I just don't see him ever being more than a 4th option, whereas Wheaton could be a good #2.

I like both guys but I think Wheaton will definitely be the better player.

I think Wheaton has the most upside but Moye has made some plays. At least more than what Wheaton has made in games. While Wheaton is hurt, this is the time for Moye to seize the opportunity.

    Wheaton - Sanders

    Moye - Plexico

two different types of receivers, problem with Wheaton is he is the same type of receiver as JB and Sanders, the would make 3 of the same types in the game. Ideally you would want a speed guy like AB, a tall guy like Moye, and a strong guy like (Boldin). This would give you the best receiving options in all scenarios, like stretching the field, possession, and in the red zone.

We need all types to be the best.

Sanders can't fight for the ball and has to be OPEN! Wheaton seems to have the physical build/ ability to fight, but I don't care for his size. They will both play their part in the near future. Sanders is bye bye and shouldn't be missed.

Yeah I think Wheaton is a more well rounded player too. When I saw him at the Cincy game I was a little taken aback by how small he was but hopefully he's pretty scrappy. I also didn't think Bell was that big and he literally was trying his legs out about 15 feet from me but the other day they were talking about what a big guy he is. I guess I've not seen enough of the backs in person. He was so close to me and had someone examining him running before the game that I was about to holler at him and say "LET HIM PLAY!" but I just figured it was a more serious situation since he was hurt. But they would've definitely heard me.

I believe and I maybe wrong, Moye was the (single A small school Rochester Rams) State of Pa 220 yd sprint champion senior year in high school. Joe Pa recruited him hard to PSU!
