His play in the preseason has been underwhelming, taking bad angles and missed tackles. At 3 years and 14 million, when do we start to panic? If this continues into the season, Edmunds will take his starting spot sooner rather than later.

He didn’t seem like much of an upgrade over Mitchell TBH. GreenBay had an awful defense last year.

I thought Burnett played better last night than he did against Philly. Honestly the defense is such a mess it's hard to tell who's doing their job.

 

Yeah he probably played better, but he was their biggest free agent signing then you see some missed tackles that's concerning.

Part of me wonders if the reason they look such a mess is that they're playing so vanilla. If they're practising all these different sets and looks, and then reverting to something else during the game, it's not going to blow anyone away.

But part of me thinks the other part is being way too optimistic on this.

The defense is a clusterf**k... pretty much a Chinese Fire Drill.

 

I'd like to agree but vanilla doesn't account for not being able to play fundamental football.

it's a bad defense. remember in 2015 I think when we still had cock, we looked awful in the preseason and we were like "it's gonna be alright?" lol yeah it never changed.

The sky is not falling at all for me. I had low expectations this season so it's all good.

Same here. This is a 9-7 team. Hopefully the AFC North will be crappy and Steelers can sneak in with a 9 win record. Maybe they can pull a 1980 Raider team or 2007 Giant team and get hot in the playoffs. They can get a home playoff game by winning the North and try to go as far as they can. But make no mistake... this team is not going to be able to hang with the Patriots, Jaguars or Texans.

The horrible angle Burnett took on the long RAC was probably the most alarming thing I saw in the game yesterday because he is actually supposed to be a starter and he looked exactly like the crap safety play we have seen the last few years. Not a good sign at all.
