Overall I am satisfied with the draft although no one really knows for a few years. The only thing that is bothering me is it seems we stick too much to prototypes and do not give our team enough versatility which is a problem given the way the league is headed.

Jarvis Jones - We all knew we were taking him. We love our linebackers and this guy was a sack machine at Georgia so I do not want to complain about this one that much but it does tell me that the FO is not all that confident in Worilds or even Woodley to spend a 1st rounder on this position.

Le'Veon Bell - This pick really surprised me. When I was watching Hodge read the name for the first few seconds I was like.... "uh.... Who? O yeah that kid..." He's got good film although he does seem a bit tall and upright at times and gets caught from behind alot. We already have Dwyer and Redman for the power back role. This kid is young and has more upside than those two probably but I think we needed a real talent back to keep defenses on their toes. Not to mention that this was quite a reach but most peoples' opinions. Would have liked to see us go for Lattimore later in the draft. Could let him get 100% and learn for a season or half a season and then unleash him and have a real phenom on our hands but hopefully this kid gives us what Dwyer and Redman couldn't.

Markus Wheaton - Don't get me wrong... Love the pick and think we were lucky to get him. But he really is just another Antonio Brown/Mike Wallace type and I know we like those kind of guys on offense. However with our problems in the red zone year in and year out and bigger dbs giving us trouble, I would have really liked to see us get a big talented target for Ben to throw to in the Red Zone and jump ball situations. Either way its still a good pick.

And before people come crying and saying, How can you give opinions on the draft before we see them play and rabble rabble rabble (been seeing alot of people complaining about that on here) I just want to say that all this banter is just for fun... I mean what is a place like this for after all? Anyone of us would gladly eat crow for knocking a pick and then have him become a superstar.

I think Wheaton will better then Wallace in the red zone. Wallace was lining up on the outside so they knew either brown or Sanders were in the slot. Wallace's speed in the red zone was completely nullified and he didn't have the hands and route running skills to compensate. Wheaton does all those things so it adds another element. I like the bell pick and think he can be a premier back. He does everything well and some things really well. Is he going to rush for 2000 yards probably not but he should be good for 1800 yards of total offense. The question is will they throw him the ball. And I love the Jones pick and think he will be the opening day starter.

Bell is a real talent back, he's a monster that has good cuts, great foot work, can go through you around you or over you, plus has good hands and a weapon out of the back field. You'll see, do you like your crow crispy or regular? ;)

I think/hope this is one of their better drafts.

    Only time will tell.

And I truly believe that Landry Jones has some skills that translate nicely into the NFL. He's in the perfect situation in Pittsburgh in that he doesn't have to come in with any pressure on him whatsoever to start right away. He'll be the number three at least this year and can grow and learn. He's also a smart kid and willing to study film for hours upon end which will serve him well.

i truely believe that we have no one on the roster now like jarvis. this kid is special. he will see the field even if we dont start him and i will go ahead and predict that he will lead us in sacks this year.

Dwyer has a small fuel tank he can only go for 3 plays then he's on the ground gasping for air ( Bell has 2 fuel tanks), both got injured last season so they could be injury prone??, and Dwyer only signed on for the 1 year tender he could be gone after this season and Redman is getting up there in age he'll be 29 in Nov. That's old for a RB. Bell is 6'1 we could use him in the redzone as a receiver too, he'll fight for the ball.
